i think i mentioned this in another post, but the whole blindness thing, if it happens, would probably be a nod towards the Dune Chronicles, not the matrix, since they were written a good 30-40 years ago... and i have a feeling that's where the idea for neo to be blind came from as well.

 

for those that follow it, remember paul can see after his eyes get burned out. but only until humanity deviates from the path he set them upon...
