Hi!

I'm from S. Korea and just recently knew and started reading first book of WoT.

The problem is my English isn't good enough to understand every bit of books.

For example what does the last sentence of the very first paragraph, "The mind-twisting had struck at the core, ignoring peripheral things." mean?

So I hope I can find some help here.

Thanks!!

The "mind-twisting" is what later became known as "the Taint", which is sort of like a madness which male channelers suffered from.

"struck at the core, ignoring peripheral things" refers to the fact that unimportant things like tapestries and paintings were left alone, but the people he (Lews Therin) loved were killed by him.

Hope that explains it?

And welcome to Dragonmount!
