Simon and Schuster Online has released Embers falling on Dry Grass, the full text of the Knife of Dreams prologue. It is available for online purchase at a number of online retailers. The base price is $3.50, but some online stores are offering it for less.

A small portion of the prologue is already available for free from Tor Books. But the entire prologue (141 pages) will be available in full as part of this ebook. The prologue will, of course, also be included in the full length novel when it is released on October 11th.

A lot of fans ask, "Why would I pay for this twice?" The answer is that you are paying for the opportunity to read the prologue 3 months early. The eBook also comes with some bonus content, and is available in a digital format which some people prefer.

In addition to the eBook release, Simon & Schuster is holding a WoT trivia contest on their website. There are prizes to be won, so get over there and show them what you know about the Wheel of Time. (Bob Kluttz, over very own Book Administrator, and the webmaster of Encyclopaedia-WoT, came up with many of those questions, so good luck answering them!) The contest will run until September 22nd.
