Tor Announces the Knife of Dreams Internet Hunt
Here is the press release from Tor:
Tor Books is offering Robert Jordan fans the opportunity to test their knowledge of The Wheel of Time™ universe with the launch of the KNIFE OF DREAMS Internet Hunt Contest* on August 2, 2005!
Internationally bestselling author Robert Jordan’s eleventh book in his wildly popular The Wheel of Time series, Knife of Dreams (A Tor hardcover; 704 pages; $29.95; 0-312-87307-7), will go on-sale nation-wide this October 11, 2005. Knife of Dreams will be the second to last book in the highly acclaimed The Wheel of Time™ series, the last three books of which have all been #1 New York Times bestsellers.
To celebrate the release of Knife of Dreams, Tor Books is offering Robert Jordan fans an opportunity to test their knowledge of The Wheel of Time universe with a chance to win prizes in an online treasure hunt. The Knife of Dreams Internet Hunt Contest will run for twelve weeks, beginning on Tuesday August 2, 2005 and ending on Tuesday, October 18, 2005.
The Knife of Dreams Internet Hunt Contest will be based on a question and answer format. Each question and its solution will be based on one of the books in The Wheel of Time series, so the Hunt will begin with a question based on New Spring: The Novel, and proceed through each book chronologically concluding with Knife of Dreams. Multiple prizes are planned for winning participants and the grand prize will go to the participant who has the fastest average correct response time for all questions at the end of the Hunt.
For more complete information on the Hunt, including the full Official Rules and information on how to register, participants should go to Knife of Dreams. We are behind them 110%,” says Ernst Dabel, President Dabel Brothers Productions.
*To participate in the “Knife of Dreams Internet Hunt” contest, fill out the registration on the Knife of Dreams website (www.knifeofdreams.com/registration.php). Each week for twelve weeks, beginning on Tuesday August 2, 2005 and ending on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, participants will be asked to correctly answer a question about The Wheel of Time™ universe. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest correct response times to each of the twelve questions, the Grand Prize will be awarded to the fastest average correct response time for all twelve questions, and ten 2nd prizes and 100 runners-up prizes will be awarded for the next fastest average correct response times for all questions. Though registrations will be accepted after the start date of the contest, 3:00 pm Eastern time on August 2, 2005, because the Grand Prize is based on the fastest average response time for all twelve weeks, the ability of participants who enter after the start date to win the Grand Prize will be significantly reduced. Open to legal U.S. and Canadian residents 18 years of age and older. Void in Arizona, Maryland, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Vermont, the province of Quebec, and where prohibited by law.
