Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I regret that I was never able to meet Robert Jordan. He was a remarkable storyteller and an honored combat veteran. I Was in Iraq when Robert died and didn't find out until about a month ago. I just wanted to say rest easy Mr. Jordan..... and thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating a world where I could go to escape from the mundane, or tragic events of this one.

It is with great sadness that I leave this message on this forum. Ive never before contributed to an online chat forum. I started reading WOT when I was a much younger person in school and have been following the books for a long time. I regret to say the business of life challenges had taken me away from what made a huge impact on my young life. Thanks to RJ I was able see a better path for my miserable life and Thanks to words of wisdom from his work I was able to make a great life filled with a family and success. Death is light as a feather, duty heavy as a mountain. That phrase became my montra for a period in my life. Thanks to RJ for influencing me to participate in the martial arts. I am now rereading all the books again and have bought all new copies of the ones that I had let go to the point of needing replaced. I was at a point in my life where it felt as if something was missing. I could not put my finger on it till now. Again I am sorry for the loss of our hero and a true artist. In honor of the art and in honor of RJ I have decided to be marked with the dragon tattoo on my forearm. Once I started searching for my tattoo after learning of his passing it made me feel like I found what I was missing and I think I have.Thank you to any who read and Thank you again to RJ and his family for everything that has been given to us:)

It is a sad day to know that Mr. Jordan had passed away; however, I also know that his stories will live forever in the people who have read WOT and will never forget the impacts he made in so many lives, including mine. My prayers go to his family and I truly hope that his works may be completed so that his greatest legacy to his fans may be full-filled. As we all know the stories will go on, it just may take some of us alittle time to hear what thay are. May I see you when I get there to continue the wonderful world of Wheel of Time. I TRULY HOPE SO!

I loved RJ's books so much that my second son is named for his primary character- Rand... RJ is going to be missed very much by everyone.

When I learned of his death it was as if Time itself had stilled; yet, how lucky we are to have been privileged enough to catch a glimpse of the man behind those magnificent tales and how lucky you were, those of you who did, to have known him. May your memories be blessed and may the love and laughter you knew together carry you through until you next meet.

I've just found out about RJ's passing. I offer my most sincerest condolences to the family. RJ's books have had such a profound effect on me. His imagination & vision will live on. I have a picture in my mind of sitting by the side of the bed with my future children reading his books to them and it fills me with warmth. His spirit will never leave as long as there are people around reading his books. RJ if your spirit is around let me say thank you for bringing such a wonderful world into my life.

You will never be a myth and the legend will still live on.

As I unpacked my library today and began filling my new shelves I was placing my prize favorite collection Wheel of Time in it's place of honor. I wondered when the final installment would be out. I went to Dragonmount and was crushed to discover the last battle is over. Blessings to his soul and to his friends and family. I have ben moved beyond words by these books. They are beyond compare. Thank you Robert(JOR)for every delicious word.

I only recently was introduced to the Wheel of Time series of books when my daughter gave me the first two for my 57th birthday earlier this year. I have spent the summer immersed in this wonderful story and I am now reading volume ten. Please accept my condolences for your and the litary world's loss. As a business executive consumed by issues all day, please know that it is wonderful to be able to escape while experiencing the world that Robert Jordan created. What a gift he had. Thank you. Please put me on your mailing list as you decide if or how you might enable this historic story come to a close.

Best Regards
