Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I have just barely discovered the great works of a talented writer. I regret that I had not found them sooner. I got the first 2 books for my b-day and I am losing sleep over them.

I've been reading the Wheel of Time books for the past 2-3 years, and only just finished the 11th a few days ago. All of this time I had no idea that Robert Jordan was a Christian, but I am so glad he is. My heart and prayers go to his family. He was without a doubt one of the greatest fantasy authors that has ever graced this world.

The world is by far a dimmer place without Robert Jordan, his works will be missed. My condolences to his family for the loss.

This is by far the best fantasy series I have ever laid my hands on. This is the 4th time that I have read the whole series I feel it will not be the last. My wife refers to herself as the "Wheel of Time Widow". Still looking forward to the last book.

This is a great loss. RJ Has inspired millions. I was surely inspired. I am on my 6th reading of the Wheel of Time. i know it sounds like I need a life, but I had to re-read several times when the new books came out. My deepest condolences to his wife Harriet and the rest of his family. I also extend my condolences to those whose lives his art has touched. Yes his writing was the rarest form of Art.

His books are the best I ever have read. He always give me hope with his books...when I am sad..I have felt me protect in my room...with my books, captured in the wonderfull world of the wheel of time created by the greatest and best human of the world..robert jordan. It was a long fight for him...why must he gone...I don't can say that I have know him good..or that I have meet him but I think we all can say that we know a piece of him...because of his great fantasy novels.

because of him...I have begin to write my own fantasy book..The Winter Storm..he was giving me hope, and inspired me for all my ideas for my own book..

Rest in Peace Robert...You had to go...=( but you will always continue to live in my heart and in your soul will always be in your books.

sniff....=(

I'm crushed. I loved his writing, so unique and wonderful. Best for the family. I hope someone also continues to do what's best for his literary family (his amazing cast of characters) by continuing their saga. He will missed in the extreme.

I feel so sad that he's gone, but he really left quite a legacy...from what's published about his life he seems like someone who lived life to the fullest...also he I think he was a person who did his best to live up to his standards of heroism, the type of heroism he wrote about. It's so important to have writers who give people a glimpse through fantasy of real heroism-of living up to ideals like his character Lan...I think it's very inspiring. It takes some motivation from the fantasy world to be able to stand up to the "dragons" in real life, for me anyway.

I am so very sorry for the loss of such a great writter.

I will treasure every moment of the time I spent in RJ's magnificent world. Those books helped me through some very difficult times, and still have pride of place in my collection.

I've been with RJ's world for quite a while now - reading my collection over and over again, sheltering in its world, finding peace in a place i can never be except in my imagination. Learning just today that he's with the Light now is somewhat a shock, and moved me into a grief for a friend who's been there when you need him. May the Creator shelter you in its hand and the embrace of the Mother welcome you home, RJ.

I know this happened a while back, but recently I started re-reading the Wheel of TIme (Again! for hundredth grand time! Currently almost done with The Great Hunt) and I've become more and more sad that Robert Jordan won't be here to see the end of his grand series. I know he's with God now, but I'd still like to extend my condolences, such as they are and perhaps not worth much, to his family and close friends. He was an excellent man and writer in my opinion (and in the opinion of many others) and I can't wait to see the Way of the Light in stores sometime soon, in dedication to his memory and exemplary work.

I just today learned...

I know you have heard from many, many people, and I know there is nothing new to be said, and yet I felt I had to write and tell you how very much RJ and his books meant to me. My husband is terminal, and I have sought, and received many hours of peace, and escape through the Wheel of Time series. I will treasure my collection of RJ's books and they will be handed down as precious and well loved to my nephews. My prayers and heartfelt condolences to Harriet and the rest of his family. Rest easy, RJ...the hard part is over.

I, just completed the Wheel of Time series , and was so sad that I could not just pick up the 12th book. RJs books have been very exciting to me. I found myself wondering what was happening with the characters when I was not at home reading. We have truly lost a great writer in this world . I know that he is with God the Creator of all things , and God grant light and peace on all of his family and friends.
