Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I was honestly shocked when I heard about Mr. Jordan's death this past Sunday night. Truth be told, I was in shock, still am a little bit. It is so strange to feel this way for a man I have never known except through his work. Wheel of Time was a godsend for me when I was feeling like an outcast in high school. I had a reality that I could think about, with people like Rand and Moraine and Thom who became my friends. Their journey has helped me with my journey, and I thank you most sincerely Mr. Jordan. You are an amazing storyteller, the likes of which few will ever rival.

Thank you for everything, and may those who are left behind find peace in this turbulent world.

My sympathies to Harriet and family.

And farewell to the Dragon,

Robert always liked talking to the people who enjoyed his works. This blog rang out with comments from him and showed his constant love and support for his fans. We mourn his loss and the world seems a little less bright. But while we are still sorry to have to let him go into the Father's hands, we still have our own "memories of the light" he left behind.

To everything there is a season, and

a time to every purpose under heaven;

Rest well, Robert.

Thank you, Robert Jordan, for sharing your imagination and your world with us. You were truly blessed with love both of family and fans who felt they knew you and were struggling with your illness as well. Much like Shakespeare, the tales you had yet to tell will be missed, but even more than that, we are all grateful for the ones that could make it into our lives. Rest in peace, and thank you again for all that you gave us. Skye.

May he rest in peace and his family know the comfort that comes from knowing that he touched not only their lives, but the lives of many, many others. I offer thanks for the countless hours of enjoyment I received from reading his work. My deepest sympathies go out to his wife, loved ones and those who had the honor of knowing him personally.

Over the past 15 years, my life has been enriched by my journey with Rand, Matt and the others. I can't express enough how much RJ has meant to me. I only met him once in Seatle, but I was inspired. I wish his family the comfort of God's hand during this troubling time.

It's funny. I found out about the passing of two of my favorite authors because of Audible. I went on there last week and found out that Madeline L'Engle had passed. I go there today and find out that RJ has passed.

And I had just started listening to the books again... While I hope that the final book does get finished, I also understand that the family needs time to grieve before they put his final affairs in order.

My heart goes out to you, the family. It is difficult to lose anyone you love.

In the tumult of adolescence, RJ gave me a world full of honor and morality. In the face of motherhood he gave me patience and understanding.

I felt the world break when I heard he had died. I will miss him and keep his work in my memory and in my heart forever.

My sincerest condolences to Harriet and the rest of the family. My deepest thanks to God himself; Thank you for letting him walk with us for a little while. Keep him safe and prepare him for the unending line of fans that will no doubt want MoL signed in heaven.

These are grieveous news =/ I started reading the books over ten years ago and though vast changes have gone through my life, RJ's books were always there with me. I know that he is in a better place, but the world is a duller place without him. My sincere respect and condolences.
