For each one of the book tour events, Dragonmount will be recruiting approximately 4-5 Storm Leaders. Storm Leaders will get the rare opportunity to meet with Brandon and/or possibly Harriet in a casual setting before the actual book signing. Typically this will be at a nearby coffee shop, restaurant, or inside the bookstore cafe. Food and drinks will be provided, so there's no cost to you. A "birthday present" for Brandon
"Who is your favorite WoT character?"
"I killed Asmodean"
There were also several young kids who asked sincere questions about the Alcatraz books, and Brandon gave hysterical answers. He said he wrote the books wanting to make glasses cool, and breaking things an asset. He also expressed his everlasting hatred of fish sticks, contrasted wit

Brandon began by telling the story of how he ended up being chosen to write the ending of The Wheel of Time. He started back in 1990, when he was 15 years old and saw a paperback of The Eye of the World on the shelf. Thinking that it was huge and had a “good page to dollar ratio†he returned to the bookstore a few days later to purchase Book One of The Wheel of Time. It was becau

Brandon started off by talking about how he got this job, finishing our book. If you’ve been paying attention, you already know the story, but I pulled out some quotes that I thought were entertaining.
* When discussing the book store where he found The Eye of the World. “The new books are right in the front and right there was a copy of a “VERY BIG BOOK.†I like very good books.â€

The first humorous moment of the evening came when we had to call our fellow Storm Leader and Tor.com contributor, Leigh, who was conspicuously absent from the event up till that point. Brandon caught on and proceeded to make light of her unexpected absence by Twittering about it from his blackberry! Suffice it to say a slightly winded Leigh arrived shortly after.

The food was good, but the conversation was better. Some spoilers may or may not have been discussed, as we had decided as a group beforehand that we wanted to talk about TGS at the brunch, as we knew we wouldn’t be able to do that at the signing. As it happened, the majority of us had finished the book by then (courtesy of the snowstorm canceling school and work for three days), or were

He recommended Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and most of the table had read it and agreed. He said that with writers starting out, there are two basic ways they tend to go - one is to keep writing different things like he did. The other is to work on one book, rewriting and improving it for a long time

This was the first Wheel of Time book signing ever to occur in Texas, and the fans were certainly excited! People began arriving before 10 AM to secure their places in line. Storm Leader Claire brought a Wheel of Time trivia quiz, crossword, and word search to keep folks entertained until the signing, scheduled for 2:00. During the next few hours, over 200 fans had their books signed. In

“The Wheel of time turns and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Aged that gave it birth comes again.â€
Saying he has never read that passage out loud before, Brandon read through a portion of the first chapter. Brandon did do a quick Q&A Section.

Other information that we gleaned from dinner included learning that Aviendha is the favorite out of the three in Rand’s “harem.†Hopefully we’ll get to see more of Pevara being awesome, but that could possibly appear in a novella on Brandon’s web page that will fill in some missing holes. For the last several years, Dabel Brothers Publishing has been the company behind the creation of various Wheel of Time comic books. They have produced six issues which collectively tell the story of New Spring. There are two more as-of-yet unpublished issues which will complete New Spring. In addition, they have released two issues for The Eye of the World.
Over the course of these past years, there have been production halts, artist changes, and
