I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my mailman.

I hope he brings me a package from Sam Weller's today!

(Otherwise I'm going to have to go to Borders and read it there!)

I got it this morning at 8 am. First one in line, 2 years in a row. Just put it down long enough to make some lunch, check the news here, and then its back to solitude.

I got mine in the mail yesterday. I'm in literal pain because, as a dental student, I am constantly being tested... I have 3 tests this week and haven't been able to read more than a few chapters. Thursday afternoon couldn't come any sooner. I want to have it read by the signing event.

Are you people reading the book?

It is amazing. And so very different from what we have been reading so far. The pace of events is amazingly dissimilar to what a WoT reader is used to. I feel a bit sad that I am going through it so quickly (I do not want the story to end), but I just cannot leave it aside and go to bed.

In any case, congratulation to Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson for coming up with this totally different style of writing (pace-wise) while keeping the story as captivating as ever.

Also, congratulation to the team who is keeping track of the timelines (one particular character is jumping several days back and forth like crazy, and yet somehow he fits well with the rest of the story).

I've got to be honest - I'm _REALLY_ disappointed with the lack of an eBook version on release day. I figured it was Macmillan that was preventing it from release, but apparently it is not. I emailed them today and this is the response that I got:

"This publication has been delayed at the request of the author's estate. Thanks."

So what the heck? Why would they do this? It just makes it look like they are taking us for all we're worth! I already bought the hardcover, and now when the eBook is released I'll have to get that too because I have a nook and that's what I read on. Just failing to understand why they are dragging their feet on this and making everyone with e-readers angry. The book has a 3 out of 5 on Barnes and Noble's website right now solely because there is no eBook. Seriously, what is the deal!?

hmm its pretty obius to me becouse the Ebooks are easly set on the internet and you can download it as fast as its put on the site so I find its reasonable that they do it.

The publishers are probably doing this to drive sales of the hardcopy books. The prices of these are higher and they don't want to lose money on production costs, but I DON'T think it's a selfish profiteering scheme. I'm not sure if e-books are factored into the NY Times bestsellers lists, but if they aren't I completely understand. This book is going to be a bestseller, and they wouldn't want to short-change the series a #1 spot by releasing the e-book immediately. It helps promote the series, so I'm not complaining. Give your eyes a rest from a screen and read an actual book, it could only help anyway.

Man, I was pissed, I pre-ordered only to find out that I wouldn't get the book till 2 days after release. What kind of crap is that?

So I did the only logical thing. I went to the store and bought it. I'll return it once I get my book in the mail. That's pretty crappy though. People who pre-order obviously want the book and should be rewarded with the book at least the day of release. Meh. Guess I won't be pre-ordering again. There's always plenty at the store to just walk in and buy it.

Man, I only put the book down cause I got a cramp in my arm. I'm lovin it so far!

Amazon, kemosabe? yea, they did that we me too (said it would arrive on release day, too)

I used amazon and did 2-day shipping and actually got it a day early! it was more to ship, but it still cost less than buying it at the store... plus I don't have a car at the moment and I didn't really want to walk to the bookstore lol.

I only made that mistake with Amazon once. Brick-n-mortar all the way.

I would have gotten it early but when they first tried to take the payment it failed because over the month between me buying the book and them charging for it there was a bit of a bank screw-up that led to the card I used becoming invalid.
