  1. OOC: i think that some unlucky dreadlord circle-leader is going to get a nasty surprise... dont wory, i approve of sneaky tricks like this, even if they are directed at me.  :D

Arani, seriously, i have been trying to force a duel with Orbein for ages, but you kept foiling me... do you dislike the idea of a melodramatic, suspensfull fight between two sworn enemies? Well, me and Narisma obviously dont.

Thank you, Narisma, finally i get the duel i've been looking for! And yes, i was planning this thread to be before the post in the gateway thread.

IC: Pherno leapt through the gateway that led to what must be the world of dreams, and Orbein began attacking me as soon as he entered. The gateway closed and Pherno deflected Orbein's attacks. Pherno began windmilling his arms, and fire appeared at his fingertips. Suddenly Pherno stopped windmilling and flung his arms forward, sending two swirling discs of flame that went straight for Orbein.

    ................................

Lupin deflected another fireball and sent a blast of lightning at an Accepted. She blocked it wth an air shield, but a trolloc came up behind her and cut her head off. Lupin laughed quietly as he sent more of his ressurected zombies at the ligthfool chnnelers, choking the corridoor with bodies that had to be incinerated entirely to be truly killed. True, for channelers tht wasn't that hard, but it was still difficult, especially if they had never fought zombies before. Gathering his power, Lupin wove compulsion and about to ensnare the mind of an near-unconscious Asha'man Soldier when suddenly, he felt a blast of pain and fear through his circle members, and the power at his disposal cut off abruptly. His circle was dead! Lupin was alone, unaided with weak strength in the power!

His zombies floundered and died, corpses without Lupins strngth. Before he could get over the shock, a lightning bolt from a Dedicated hit Lupin in the chest, and darkness overcame him.

  2. OOC: Large numbers are thrown around alot in this thread and the series, but to get a picture of how many trollocs there actually are in this battle, i like to picture the 10'000 strong uruk'hai horde from the second lord of the rings movie. Times that by 30 and you have 300'000.

Messed up, isn't it?  :)Like, how could they fit that many trollocs into the city? Crazy.

IC: Pherno blew a final hole in the side of the tower, and flew back to inspect his handiwork. Shadowspawn were swarming through dozens of holes made in the walls of the tower, and the lightfool circles inside were falling back, moving into higher levels to hold off the shadowspawn. But they were doing a bloody good job of it. Thousands, tens of thousands of trollocs had fallen, and the shadow had only overran the first level. There were still many more levels to go, but their were many, many more shadowspawn where that came from.

It was time to settle some scores. Inverting his weaves, Pherno flew up the side of the tower, all the way to the top. Emerging from the side, the lightfools at the top jumped in shock, but Pherno was too quick. Seeing Orbein, Pherno pointed at him and shouted, "Hold, lightfools! I challenge you to a duel!" Orbein lowered Callandor and stared grimly at Pherno. Hatred was in his eyes. "I accept. I sense that we are equally matched. I will enjoy exacting vengeance for my wife and daughter."

  3. OOC: Im sorry, Hadilmir, but narisma saying that three days had passed meant that Pherno had to have routed the Dragons, but some might have survived, herno is too busy now to worry about a few cannons.  :)

I apologise or my numerous godmodding incidents, and will try not

    to do it again.

IC: Pherno cut down another soldier with a quick slash of flame. Where was that fool Orbein? Pherno would rip him into little charred pieces! Then he would kill Dovien in a "friendly fire accident" Yes, a little "friendly fire" would do the trick nicely. Smiling to himself, Pherno drew deeply from the massive well of power available to him and blew a hole in the side of the tower. Trollocs streamed through, and the lightfool channelers inside responded by sending weaves of power at them.

Pherno was powerful, but not even he could withstand dozens of full-strength circles. And he knew it. Blowing another hole in the wall, Pherno waited for the trollocs to whittle the lightfools down. Then he would finish them. And Orbein. They would all die.

  4. After routing the Red Hand soldiers and their Dragons, who had inflicted heavy casualties on his forces, Pherno had returned to the city. Surveying the ruins and that darned shield, he saw hundreds of thousands of Trollocs and myrdraal inhabiting the burned-out husks of the once-grand city.

Suddenly cracks began forming at the base of the shield. He could only see half of it, channeling wise, but the bits os Saidin that he saw were cracking from an unknown source. Since no female dreadlord had the power to do that, it must have been that upstart Dovien. 60 years, 60 long years Pherno had served the Shadow, by running errands for higher-ranking darkfriends, by destroying whole villages that refused to convert, by recruiting Darkfriends through intimidaton and fear. What had Dovien done? He had shown up a dozen years ago and had secured as much influence in that time as Phern had in 60! It was ridiculous! Dovien had to die, especially since Pherno was going to be promoted to chosen once that lightfool, Rand al'Thor had been defeated.

"Prepare to attack, my shadowspawn! They will not see another dawn!" Pherno shouted, and 300'000 shadowspawn began rallying for the final assault on the white tower.

  5. OOC: Since the Last Siege thread is locked, i will continue Pherno's storyline here, as i had planned.

IC: The man staggered across the dusty waste. Who was he? What was he? He thought to himself. where was he? The last thing he remembered was a blinding flash of light and waking up in the middle of tis dusty plain. Wait, no.... something was coming back to him... but it was vague... misty..

He was powerful, he killed many enemies... he was standing over a fallen enemy general... an important one, who he remembered hating for some reason... the man raised his hand.... he was unarmed... how did he kill without weapons? Suddenly there was a blinding flash of multi-coloured light, coming from the north.... he remembered feeling a great void inside him... like something important had been ripped from him... he was shocked... people cheering... people screaming... the man had screamed as fire surged through his veins.... there had been another blinding flash.... then... nothing.

How odd, the man thought to himself. The dust spread as far as the eye could see in all directions, broken only be the occasionally rock pile or withered tree. No, wait... there was a dark patch on the horizon! He could see towers... faintly. He was so, so thirsty. If he could reach the city, maybe they would help him! Breaking into a staggered run, the man headed for the city, and what he hoped would be his salvation.

  6. Naltark kept yelling into the talk-box that his agents had stolen and replicated from the lightfool forces.

"WE NEED MORE TROLLOCS! GET ME MORE TROLLOCS!"

"But sir, the nearest fist is 7 kilometres away, it will never get their in time!"

"IF IT DOESN'T, HALF THERE PAY!"

"But we dont pay trollocs, sir!"

"....WELL START PAYING THEM, THEN HALF IT!!!"

    "Sir, yes sir!"

"Darel, have the new dreadlords arrived? THEY BETTER HAVE!"

    "Fresh from the Fortress, sir."

"GOOD!!! Get them BLOWING SOMETHING UP!"

    "Blowing what up, sir?"

"EVERYTHING NOT SERVING THE GREAT LORD, DIMWIT!!!"

    "Fair enough, sir! Anything else?"

"YES, A COFFEE AND A PLATE OF SOMETHING UNHEALTHY! NOW!!!!!"

  7. OOC: No problem, i understand (i am somewhat of a writer myself  :) ). The way to fight with RPing is by taking turns. Like, you write a few lines detailing how your guy deflects the other guys last attack and then your guy attacks back. It goes like that until something happens. The important thing is to not make the other guy do anything with the other guy (because that is against the forums Roleplaying rules, and it annoys people)  ;)

IC: Pherno staggered and nearly fell to the ground as an explosion rocked the hilltop. What in the shadow had that been!?

Pherno composed himself and saw someone who seemed very familiar. Ah, yes! He had been a Darkfriend who Pherno had seen around at meetings.... he must have gone turncoat! Traitor! He would burn, just like the rest. Laughing, he drew back his arm and made a throwing motion, and a pulsing, orange fireball lanced out of his hand. The fireball went straight for the handless ex-darkfriend, but Pherno didn't see the line of Dragons nearby about to fire straight at him...

  8. OOC: Not meaning to sound rude, but could you please stop making my character say stuff. Hes my guy, and i dont make your guy say stuff, so stop, please. Also, have i misinterpreted, or did you say that Pherno was a Blademaster? Or were you talking about your guy? I dont mind so much, but please stop modifying my character without my permission. Btw Arani, yes, Pherno IS mad, and hes about toe-to-toe with Orbein at this point, because Pherno has everything Orbein has plus his own sword angreal. Plus, Logain is nowhere near as good as a forsaken. Hes not even more powerful than any of them, hes above-average, but not massively so.

IC: Pherno was outraged. How dare that Aes Sedai minx interrupt his duel with Orbein! It was HIS duel! Flying around the shield, Pherno probed for weaknesses with blasts of flame, but found none. It was a big, powerful shield. Damnit!

Giving up, Pherno landed and began rallying the shadowspawn. Most of the surviving 100'000 were hiding behind buildings to escape the volleys of dragons eggs from a nearby hilltop. Explosions and fire ripped through whole buildings, devastating thousands of trollocs and darkfriends. Pherno needed to do something about that. But, by the Shadow, he was tired. He'd been channeling almost non-stop for hours, and it was taking its toll on the maniacal dreadlord.

Well, he had the strength to do this, at least. As long as it was quick. Soaring into the air, he flew towards the serried ranks of dragons and crossbowmen on a hill overlooking Tar Valon. Well, overlooking the ruins of it, anyway. The crossbowmen saw him and within seconds, a storm of black bolts arced towards him. Instead of deflecting them all, to conserve energy Pherno cleared a path through the storm with a blast of fire, burning a tunnel through the cloud.

Landing amidst the dragons, Pherno sent fireballs in all directions, killing dozens of red hand soldiers. Smiling broadly, Pherno was happy; he was finally doing what he loved doing most.

  9. Knarl gazed with narrowed eyes at the small villiage from a nearby ridge. His men had abandonned their post and had began attacking lone villiages along the dragonwall. Who needed the Dark Father, anyway? HIS Trollocs didn't, and if Knarl had his way, no trollocs would answer to the Dark Father. No, they would answer to HIM instead!

Knarl laughed and ordered the attack.

  10. OOC: Lanfear is dead, remember? She is Cyndane now. Oh well, suspend disbelief, i guess.  :)

Pherno flew across the devastated field of ash and body bits that had been over a thousand trollocs and dozens of dreadlords. Fools, they deserved death. But this couldn't keep up, he needed to do something, fast. He needed to deal with that upstart wielding Callandor. Soaring towards the top of the tower, Pherno dodged the fireballs and lightning flung at him by channelers on the tower roof, and landed with a blast of flame near the edge of the roof.

Sending contemptuous blasts of flame at the light channelers around him, and they fell back, retreating behind a man in a black cloak wielding a shining sword. The Tsorovan M'hael.

Drawing his shining black sword, he flung a storm of fiery tentacles at the powerful light channeler.

  11. The Trollocs around Knarl watched in shock as he pulled his axe out of the myrdraal's head. The tinker looked up in shock and barely reacted as knarl beheaded her. Looking around at his men, Knarl said "The Myrdraal was lax, and was killed by a tinker. I didn't get their in time to save him, isn't that correct, my warriors?" The Trollocs exchanged glances and slowly nodded.

"Well," Knarl continued, "I am now in command, warriors of the Varm'pyre, and i say that we go, and hunt down some worthy meat! We will feast on the flesh of warriors!" The trollocs, HIS trollocs, howled and cheered, and Knarl howled with them.

  12. OOC: Well, to be honest, i misinterpreted your post and thought that loni's wagons were coming my way. dont know why, but, oh well. This can be another unfortuante group.

Knarl clove a tinkers arm off and then impaled her on the large blade of his axe. This was hardly worthy of his might, but.... it was good for a laugh, and easy meat. Seeing Krysd cut a screaming tinker in half with his huge black blade, Knarl was surprised to see another tinker leap at the myrdraal and stab him in the neck in an unanticipated show of bravery. The myrdraal was barely hurt, of course, but the force of the attack drove him to his knees.

Seeing his chance for vengeance, Knarl ran up to the fallen fade, who was struggling to rise under the weight of the tinker, who in turn was stabbing Krysd vicously, and raised his axe to finish the usurping lurk once and for all.

  13. Pherno was getting desperate; he wanted to end this before the reinforcements arrived tommorow morning. Anything less would soil his reputation. flying towards the white tower, throwing massive blasts of fire at the massive wall of air and spiit stopping the trollocs from reaching the white tower. The lights remaining troops, less than ten thousand warriors and a few thousand channelers, were in the tower, preparing for a last stand.

Pherno gathered his power, and a massive beam of pure fire shot out of his outstretched arms, hitting the massive air/spirit shield. The shield held for a few moments, but soon it began cracking. Seconds later, the massive wall shattered, and the trollocs charged towards the white tower.

    ...................

Lupin threw more zombies into the fray, and trollocs followed them. deathgates and fireballs ripped through the trolloc ranks, killing thousands as they swarmed towards the tower itself. Soon, the tower would fall, soon.

    ..............

Garda Harilon beheaded a trolloc with a sweep of his sword and stabbed another with ease. but there were so many! The Blademaster gracefully cut off a darkfriend's arm and impaled him through the chest. Hack, slash, thrust, Garda slew trolloc after trolloc after darkfriend. he must have killed dozens, but it was too much. Retreating back to the tower itself, he watched as the shadowspawn overran the once-beautiful tower grounds, and he got through the great doorway just before it shut.

    .................

Rand cut down another trolloc armoured in black with his sword and threw a few fireballs at another. The fireballs all but bounced off, and rand resorted to beheading the troublesome beast. He had arrived at shayol ghul the previous day, and had found hundreds of dreadlords and thousands of these black-armoured trollocs and those massive blight-mutants. His force, consisting primarily of channelers, perrins wolves and mats band, had suffered heavy losses at the hands of the power-resistant creatures and shadowspawn. they had finally given up and pulled back to wait for the morning. now that the morning had arrived, rand army was finally beating the shadowspawn army.

Rand saw a gaping cavern in front of him, and he knew that it lead to the pit of dhoom. Bracing himself, Rand entered the cavern, to face the Dark One.

OOC: that will be my last post for the next 12 days or so, so dont finish this without me, please. And you should probably wait for arani, we dont want her to be left out.

  14. Pherno watched in rage as large sections of the wall crumbled, seemingly on their own. Dovien was using the True Power! How DARE he! Pherno had commanded that the true power was used only on his direct command! Well, Dovien would psay for his insubordination, oh, yes, he would pay.

Trollocs were streaming through the gaping gaps in the wall, some made by Pherno, and more were streaming down the stairs from the wall. The metaphorical noose was tightening fiercly, and the lights shattered forces were retreating to the tower or holding out in defensible buildings. The light soldiers retreat was made easier by the trollocs looting. Burning buildings, murdering, slaughtering the citizens that had refused to take refuge in the white tower, the trollocs spread slowly through the city from he edges like a slow-spreading stain of ink.

Fireballs, lightning, deathgates, blossoms of fire, and massive gales of wind lashed at the advancing shadowspawn and darkfriends, but there were too many.

Done with observing, Pherno drew as much as he could hold, the combined power of vora's sa'angreal, his black sword angreal, 72 powerful dreadlords (some with angreal), and his own considerable power, and unleashed it. Jets of fire appeared at his hands and feet, and he shot up in the air. Holding out both his arms, a massive ball of roiling, orange flames began forming a few feet in front of him. After a few seconds, he was ready, and, raising his arms above his head in a grand gesture, Pherno threw the massive fireball at the sacred Ogier grove.

The massive, house-sized fireball streaked across the city, leaving a burning tail of flames behind it, and hit the centre of the grove. The fireball exploded in a blinding flash of light, and the whole grove was engulfed in flames. Laughing maniacally, he watched in pleasure as the grove burned and crumbled.

Pointing at a group of light soldiers (well, they seemed like light soldiers, anyway) a thick bar of balefire shot from his hand and incinerated them. Moving on to another one, he burned more soldiers out of the pattern, and more, and more. He kept killing more and more, and only stopped once he saw the trollocs reach the white tower.

OOC: I hate to say it, but i think we should wait for arani. She hasn't posted in a while, and we have moved ahead in the story heaps.

Either today or tommorow will be my last post for at least 12 days, as im going on holiday). Dont wait for me, keep posting, but please dont finish the siege without me.

Sorry about this. Please dont abandon this thread completely because of me, please. I like rp'ing with you guys, and i would like to finish this thread. Goodbye, for now.

Sorry, cant help myself. Think Arnold Schwartznegger, and, "I'll be back"

  15. Demandred, astride a black horse, pointed a finger at tar valon and shouted "CHARGE!". The shdaow horde moved forward, and, like a huge, black noose, tightened around the city. Siege towers and scaling ladders moved with them, but many of the towers were brought down by the light channelers, those that weren't being protected by circles of dreadlords.

Using the binoculars to see clearly, Demandred began sniping the light channelers that he suspected were leading circles with lightning-fast weaves of fire. With several other dreadlords, all with binoculars, helping him, he soon had the lights troops and many channelers ducking behind the crenalations to avoid him, as they had seen several of their number seemingly randomly explode.

The light channelers, even with demandreds sniping, were unleashing hell upon the oncoming horde. Lightning rained from the sky, and fireballs and explosions ripped through the trolloc ranks. But, despite this, the trollocs reached the wall, scaling ladders, siege towers and battering rams were brought up, and the real battle begun.

    .........

Karilyn threw a fireball in another trollocs face and knocked another off the wall with air. There were so many! Almost too many. Several individual channelers near her had already died in fire by an unknown source; surely non of the dreadlords had a good enough view to attack individual channelers?

Suddenly she heard as roar from behind her. A trollocs roar. Whipping around, she saw a group of trollocs that were better armed and armoured than normal charging up the stairs directly behind her! No-one had seen them befor this because they had been concentrating on the battle. How did they get in!

A Soldier who hadn't heard the roar was cut down from behind, and one of the trollocs shot a novice in the back with an arrow. getting over her shock, she acted and threw a volley of fireballs at the trollocs. But, instead of going through the shadowspawn or blowing off a limb, the fireballs just burned them or dissapated on their armour! What were these things? She was so focused on stopping the trolloc ambushers that she didn't notice as another one came up a ladder and drove its sword through her midsection.

As the light faded from her view, she saw a handsome man dressed in black with red markings smiling cruely at her. She didn't even notice when he crushed her head with air.

    ..........

Daerod laughed as he released the weaves he had used to crush an accepteds head. She had been dying anyway, but Daerod liked to finish people off himself. Sgooting a smallish Deathgate across the wall, he helped the other two dreadlords and the trolloc elites to secure this part of the wall. At the same time, dozens more infiltrating groups were doing the same thing elsewhere. Most would probably fail, but now the shadow had several bridgeheads from which to bring up more shadowspawn.

  16. Knarl picked up his axe and casually walked down the slope and stopped in front of the tinkers wagons. The tinkers, upon seeing him, began screaming and running. Knarl roared and chargd, and his warriors charged down the slope, and the ambush was sprung. Knarl laughed as he cut through another tinker, more easy meat, ha ha!

  17. Dawn was breaking. The shadow's army was amassed and ready to fight. They were awaiting a signal from Demandred, and they got it when a massive fireball coalesced in the air above the city and exploded in sparks. As one, the shadow horde moved to surround the city, spreading their 300'000 strong force across the length of the riverbank.

The light was ready, though, but their soldiery had sufferd heavy losses in the fighting, and now numbered barely 60'000, almost a quarter of the shadows strength. Luckily for the light, they still had several thousand channelers, even though most were under-trained and inexperienced, having only recently been recruited.

Pherno, astride his large black warhorse, Fluffy, raised his black, shadow-glowing sword, and drew deeply from his circle's power, aided by alviharin with vora's sa'angreal. Weaving fire and air, he replcated te fire-rain weave from yesterday, and it began raining large fireballs. Tying it off, so e didn't have to manage it, and, waited for the shadow army to charge.

OOC: by the way, i will be going on holiday for about 12 days in a few days. I don't know how much time i will get on the net, so, sorry for the wait you will have to endure for me to post. This isn't my last post, btw.
