  1. Ok, I'll try to make this very long story as short as possible.

First the Shar Mahdi, Blood Seekers. They were formed just before the Trolloc Wars by a wandering Darkfriend, who visited many countries and learned their martial arts. The first disciples of Daghain went on to form the original Order. When the Trolloc Wars started, our version of Ba'alzamon, Demandred, became their patron, officially making them a distinct Order among Friends of the Dark. They were sent out as the Shadow's Assassins during the War. As the War came to a close, Tar Machen Rahien, the Tower of the Black Dawn, was built for them. Since then, it has pretty much been the Shadow's version of the White Tower, at least as far as hording information and artifacts goes. The Shar Mahdi have a running master list on both leaders of the Shadow, as until recently, they have been their primary employers; and a hit list, noted with a number of priority.

Fast forward about 2000 years to the fall of Malkier. Like Isam in the books, Peaten al'Kar is the son of the King's brother, a little older than our "Lan" character. When Malkier fell, his mother fled with her five children south to Andor, near Caemlyn. Peaten became a crook, then Darkfriend. Always thinking of his homeland, he left to visit it on a feeling when he was a young teenager. He was found at the edge of the Blight, half dead, by an apprentice Assassin, who also had a feeling of wandering the Blight for a bit. He took him to the Tower for training. Peaten moved up faster than anyone else ever had, becoming apprenticed to the one who found him, one of the bright young talents in the Tower. Soon learned of Demandred's plan to have him sit on the throne of Malkier, under the Shadow as its overlord. When he became Master of Combat, by defeating the former Master, he was allowed a Myrrdraal strength blade forged in Thakan'dar, a rare gift even among Shar Mahdi. As the Shadow's best fighter, when the order came down to kill the Warder known as the greatest swordsman alive, Peaten took the assignment himself. Instead of attacking at night from the Shadows, pride took over and he challenged the Warder to a fair duel. They were as evenly matched as could be, but Peaten eventually lost. He died and his weapon was taken to the Tower.

His soul returned into the World of Dreams by the grace of the Great Lord of the Dark. After some training with Demandred, Peaten was left to his own devices for a while to get used to his new realm. He was summoned to the Pit of Doom and given a body in which he could walk the world of the living. He couldn't change it once he was in the waking world, but the ability to enter T'A'R in the flesh meant he could change bodies there and walk the world once again as Peaten. As Peaten he returned to the Tower, killing the Master of the Order and taking over as the new Head of the Shar Mahdi. As his skill in the dream increased, his lust for death made him find new targets: wolves mostly, but anyone else walking the dream, even Aes Sedai. To the Shadow is is known as the Man with Two Souls, to the wolves he is known as Slayer.

With Tarmon Gaidon coming, Peaten was instructed to begin repopulating Malkier, building an army of Darkfriends and Shadowspawn. The Nae'blis instucted Peaten to make it as powerful as possible, which meant it's leader needed his most fearful weapon... which is where the White Tower comes in...

Sorry I tried to shorten it as much as possible, but the character has been around for 11 years of RPing, so theres kind of a lot.

  2. So here's my basic plan...

Since I just can't not kill (it wouldn't be very Slayery of me if I didn't), I was thinking of taking out a couple male servants so there are some job openings, one would be a little suspicious "Hey, you want a servant?" "Yeah, wierd, one just died yesterday". It won't be messy, they'd just dissapear as far as anyone else knew. I can drag them into T'A'R.

As the Shadow's top Assassin, even before he was Slayer, Peaten would have a list of Black Ajah members, either as former employers or contacts. Plus there is a list of top Darkfriends in the Tower of the Black Dawn... just in case someone decides to go rogue *g* They may not know exactly where it's at (acctually to make the RP better they shouldn't), but along with his own job as a servant, they can let them know were it isn't. One can even secure him a job in the armories or storage areas, though I'm sure a weapon like that would be deep under the Tower.

In his time there, he can also gain intel to give to the Nae'blis. There can be time to interact with Accpted, Sisters, Warders and Tower Guards. Things could be figured out to do while I'm there. When I leave, I might have to nick someone with my beautiful blade and leave them where they can be found as a last "ha ha", but killings will be at a minimum.

  3. Hello, my lovelies! So here's a little background for my proposed RP. In his first life, Slayer was given an ashanderei forged in Thakan'dar. When he was killed by Ben-T Gaidin, the weapon was taken to the White Tower... presumably to be studied by the Browns, but could also just be in a big pile in some storeroom, that all depends on if any Browns want to play. Anywho... with Tarmon Gai'don coming, he needs it back. More detail is on the T'A'R board if you want to read that. To do this he is going to pose as a servant so he can try and narrow down his search of at least where not to look. Also if there are any Black Ajah there, he could find you out. If any non-Chosen has a list of names, at least of the higher ranking ones, it would be Slayer especially given his background as an Assassin, so there doesn't have to be some big search for that also.

  4. The World of Dreams shifted as Peaten returned to its version of the Blight. Here there wasn't the scorching heat, or the deadly beasts, but it was dangerous enough still. In front of him, the Tower of the Black Dawn dominated the landscape. Far to the south lay the Mountains of Dhoom, but here there was only the Tower. For nearly two thousand years, the secrets of the Shadow lay hidden in it's halls. The Shar Mahdi Order had seen the Trolloc Wars, the War of One Hundred Years, and countless others... including local skirmishes between Trolloc tribes. Nowhere in the world, save the White Tower in Tar Valon, was there so many lost tomes and artifacts. And not even the White Tower maintained as much information in the martial realm. Weapons, rare even during the times they were created, were kept in the armories. One of which was the ashanderei, pretty much a staff with a sword blade at the end. There were some so simple, and some much more intricate. It was here that Peaten discovered his choice weapon, which dated back to the Trolloc Wars. He had trained with it mainly because it was not used by any other Shar Mahdi. It was an easy weapon to handle, being much like a simple quarterstaff in theory, but an extremely difficult one to master. It's lack of use, however, made it much harder also to defend against. Upon becoming Master of Combat, Peaten was allowed the distinct and rare honor of being one of the few humans ever to recieve a weapon forged in the Valley of Thakan'dar, on the slopes of Shayol Ghul itself. The ashanderei created there was a one of a kind masterpiece, which in all likelyhood would never be made again. When his mortal life ended (he was sure in this life he would never age, though he was just as sure he could still be killed), the weapon was taken by the one that had killed him. He knew where it was it was taken, but the exact location could only be guessed, and it would take him precious time to locate it by himself. The Last Battle was coming, the Nae'blis had assured him of that. Peaten was ready to be a leader in the Battle, but he needed his weapon first, and he knew the higher powers of the Shadow chaffed at having such a weapon in the keeping of it's enemies. He did not fear where he would have to go to retrieve it, only those who would punish him for not bringing it back.

The World shifted again and he was just miles north of where he needed to be. He was provided a sacrificial second body to return to the land of the living, though he rarely used it. The man was only of average height, compared to his origional six and a half foot frame. It was much thinner, though athletic enough for most situations. But it was not his. He had spent a lifetime forging his body into a fighting machine. In life, he was as strong as any man living, and lighting quick for a man of his bulk. He disliked having to switch bodies, but his killer could still be there and recognize him, he was a hard man to forget. Reluctantly he changed into his new body and stepped out into the waking world...

... where the White Tower itself stood high above the Shining Walls of Tar Valon.

  5. I think we should start moving towards the Last Battle. As someone whos been away a while, it looks like the main plotline is going nowhere fast. It almost seems like we're not very far from where we were when I left. If we push the issue, and start being active, the other Divisions will have to follow. One way we can do this is start consolidating forces. We can start by rebuilding Malkier, basically a country of DFs and Shadowspawn. That could start our version of Lan on his way to reclaim it. Another way we can move ahead is to start letting active people RP high ranking characters (as TPCs as long as the particular person allowed to write that character remains active), meaning Chosen/Shaidar Haran/Order Heads). We can also have the same active players make new TPCs just so we can have more than 2 or 3 people RPing each thread. Thats all I really have for now. Ideas?

  6. I'd have to get caught up on where we're all at before I can give any good suggestions.

And do I really need to send in another bio? Apparently we can't just post them anymore so yeah. Cause it's you I'd do it, but also cause its you I'd also suspect you have it somewhere (I think I might have seen it on the wiki).

To make it funner and easier to RP until people get active again I could probably make some NPC/TPCs too.

  7. Born in the city of Seandar, Muagdhe grew up his entire life around raken. He joined the Ever Victorious Army when he was eighteen years old, enlisting as a morat'raken. He grew to be one of the most famous fliers in recent memory, battling his way to M'der'morat'raken, Air General, the leader of all fliers. He went with the Hailene, Those Who Come Before, back to the eastern lands. After they were defeated by the so-called "Band of the Red Hand", Muagdhe went back to his homeland. Because of his prior experience with the eastlands, and because he was not responsible for the defeat, the Emperor, may he live forever in the Light, promoted him to Commander of the Ever Victorious Army, in charge of both the Return and the Emperor's daughter, the Daughter of the Nine Moons.

  8. Jaem was born on a small farm near Deven Ride in the Two Rivers. Jaem had always had a thirst for knowledge and an itch for adventure. Peddlers and Merchants' Guards filled his head with wonders of a great big world outside of the Two Rivers. In his early twenties, he forsook his responsibilities at the farm and left the Two Rivers for it seemed the first and last time.

Rumor had taken him to the Borderlands where it was said an army was being massed to attack the Blight. The army was later known as the Band of the Red Hand. After a short period of training in Fal Dara, the battle was launched in Tarwin's Gap. Suddenly, the young man who had dreamed of adventure found what he was searching for. In the heat of battle, he had proven himself a natural leader and became a Captain of the Cavalry.

Throughout the next several years, Jaem proved himself time and time again, namely in a battle with the Children of Light. While he was a Banner Captain, he was selected to train with the Warders in Tar Valon. There, he became a blademaster, and was asked by several Aes Sedai and Accepted to acctually become a Warder. Feeling that he was needed elsewhere, he refused and returned to the Band.

Shortly after his return to the Band, Schaduw, his Captain General and mentor, was killed. The Commander, Ehlana, chose Jaem to be his successor. Soon after, he became lovers with a young Scout named Xandrea Raylin. In a short time, she became pregnant, to Jaem's overwhelming joy. It was at that time that he had come across a man named Xander do'Rain. Xander was a seemingly good natured man, but Jaem soon found it was all a lie. The man was an assassin, a darkfriend spy, and a blademaster.

Xander attacked him once they were alone before a battle with the Seanchan. The older man was better than he, but Jaem's quick hands and wits saved him... barely. Jaem killed the darkfriend, but not without being wounded so badly, onlookers must have believed him dead. A neat gash sliced across his forehead and cheek, a fraction deeper and Jaem's right eye would be missing. His left hand was completely cut off just above the wrist. He suffered many other wounds, including one to his right leg that makes him now walk with a limp. The man that was once considered almost too handsome was now a scarred, limping shell of of a man.

When he had come too, the Band was nowhere to be found. To them, he was really dead. It was then that his spirit died. He would never see his beloved again, or his unborn son. He could not return to the Band, and he would not return home. One hand and a limp made for a poor blademaster, or former blademaster at least, but the knowledge remained. He would sometimes train young men or noble's guards in the sword to make a living. His pay went to gambling and cheap ale. More often than not, he lost a weeks wages before he could ever buy more than one ore two hot meals. He drank himself into a self-pitying stooper.

In a rare moment of sobriety, Jaem heard rumor of the Band now in the Two Rivers. He could think of nothing more miserable than going home to meet with his former companions, so off he went. When he returned, he found not only the Band, but his old self. Xandrea had moved on, which in a way helped him move on as well. He returned as a Banner Captain, but soon was elected as the Commander, a name known to the Shadow to once again become a thorn in it's foot. However, he was not up for all of the responsibility and paperwork that came from commanding such a huge force of people. Besides, generals always sat at the back of a battle. Jaem figured he was of more use in the field, so he stepped down to re-join the ranks of the Band of the Red Hand.

  9. Peaten al’Kar was born in Malkier during the last years of it’s existence. He is the nephew of the last King, and third in line to the throne, after his cousin and older brother. When Malkier was destroyed, his widowed mother and 5 children fled south to Andor. When he was old enough, he helped out by working on the family farm, then helping his older brother, Marten, on hunts. He became a more than competent hunter and survivalist by the time Marten left the family to join the Children of the Light. He also helped out by going into Caemlyn to steal what he could. By the time he was a preteen, he was as tall as most grown men. He could now be able to steal from other urchins and beggars. His success and lack of morals soon gained the attention of the local Darkfriend Circle. It didn’t take much to convince him to join, to him (and at the time to them) they were little more than an organized crime ring. He was indoctrinated into a culture that fit him like a glove. Unlike the rest, he was the only one that truly believed in the Shadow’s existence. He had seen first hand, even though he was so small as to barely remember, what Trollocs could and would do. His brother was a fool, thinking he could fight the Shadow. He had seen the Children of the Light himself when Marten left them, they were little more than bullies in shiny armor. He doubted any of them had ever been in a real battle. Marten claimed to want to take back Malkier by force, but Malkier was gone. When he was fourteen, he left on his own to Malkier itself. He didn’t really know why, he just felt like he had to go. He packed up only a few things, then left his mother with his older sister Lena, and younger twin siblings Serina and Justen.

He hunted what he could on his way to the Blight. When he finally got there, close to death, he was discovered by an apprentice Assassin named Memnoch, who had also come on a feeling. Memnoch escorted him deep into the Blight, to Tar Machin Rahien, The Tower of the Black Dawn. There he was instructed in the ways of the Shadow, and in the martial arts of the world. In his time at the Tower, he had become a nearly indestructible force, the champion of the Shadow. As a Shar Mahdi, a Blood Seeker, Peaten was sent on the most dangerous missions. He was the favorite of the Chosen Demandred, becoming the Master of Combat for the Order. His weapon of choice was the ashanderei, an ancient weapon he had found in the armory of the Tower. As a Master, he was even allowed the honor of receiving a blade forged at Thakan’dar. He volunteered to personally accept one of the most dangerous missions in the books, the Warder known as Ben Gaidin, widely known as the greatest living swordsman. Instead of attacking in the night, as an assassin should, pride took over and he challenged the Warder in fair one-on-one combat. It was an epic battle, but one had to be the winner and one the loser. Peaten was the latter. Dying was a memory he would never forget.

When he woke up, he was in the World of Dreams. There he found his way to Shayol Ghul, where the Great Lord of the Dark told him of his second chance. He was now bound to serve the whims of the Dark One and his Chosen. He met once again with Demandred, who told him of his true value of the Shadow. He was to be crowned King of Malkier under the Shadow. Once he had been taught the basics of the World of Dreams, Demandred left Peaten to his own devices, never to be seen by Peaten again. Once Peaten had learned his way around, he was given a sacrifice of a human soul, whose body in the waking world also became his. He became known as the Man with Two Souls. With this new gift, he could move in and out of the World of Dreams, both through his mind and in the flesh, mostly keeping his body as Peaten. With his body back, he returned to the Tower. Once there, he challenged the Master of the Order himself, defeating him and taking his position.

The Chosen Sammael soon took over as the patron of the Shar Mahdi Order. Sammael, who resided in Sheinar, began the plans to rebuild Malkier, with Peaten at it’s head. Peaten’s current whereabouts are known only to the Chosen and the Great Lord of the Dark himself.

  10. Well my character I'd assume is inland watching over the DotM and the war... however, with the lack of RPers, I'd be up for making TPC/NPCs. Come to think of it, that would make sense for us few active RPers to have a couple of those just so we could interact with each other instead of sitting idle until a big RP comes up.

  11. My story? theres so many stories to tell.... so gather 'round young Dragonmountaneers for Tellings of the Wheel: The Don

I started at Dragonmount in 2001 with SG (I just noticed my 10 year anniversary here was in Jan). I made my first RP character, who is still lurking somewhere in Tel'aran'rhoid. Since then I've had every kind of character you could have. I was part of a 3 man team (with Emp and Furyk) that helped build the Seanchan. I've been a OL, DL, ADL and Incarn. After all that, I got burnt out and since then I've been kinda off and on. So the only characters I have left are Muagdhe, Commander of the Ever Victorious Army; Jaem Caran, former Commander of the Band; and Peaten al'Kar, aka Slayer. Any more than that would just be too much for the ammount of time I have available.
