  1. If i may retort...I appreciate the affore mentioned parallels with other storys i.e. LOTR and Star Wars and the creative liberties taken to grow the lore of such stories. Those works are arguably relevant and may or may not follow what die-hard fans want within the storylines. However, with this body of works, the story is ABSOLUTELY laid out with character development, plot synergy, and essence of tale. For me personally, to deviate so dramatically (regargless of the possibilities of bringing the 'main premise' back into alignment with the actual story) from the foundation that was provided is, well, bluntly put, wreckless. The series created an entirely "same different" account of the original work. Creating completely different storylines and character persona dynamics (that ultimately shape the viewer's perceptions of characters) is, while bold, demeaning to the actual body of work. I almost want to equate it with the abominable movie version of Steven King's "The Lawnmower Man." But...that is cruel and mean. The illustration was captivating and very well done. But to not follow the true story development and character attributes disinfranchises almost EVERY Jordan follower that has put years of unabated love and energy into the weavings of the Wheel. That being said, the series was enjoyable. It was both visually capitivating and enticing. If I had never read The Wheel of Time, the series would have been great! Unfortunately, that is not the case I argue. Ultimately, I am a thrilled to see Jordan's art portrayed on the screens. No one will EVER be totally pleased with what is presented as we all have our own perceptions in the end. The Wheel weaves as the Wheel will.
