I didn’t enjoy Nynaeve’s storyline in Fires of Heaven but I like the character of Nynaeve in the book. My dislike mostly stems from what other characters she’s involved with in that storyline are doing. I also agree Nynaeve is not bratty - her whole men are bad thing is frustrating but that true of most of the women in the WOT

The mistrusting of outsiders comes from them coming from an isolated village where the only outsiders who come are peddlers who come every year so there’s not really outsiders. Also Moiraine is not always right For example Moiraine wanted him to instantly confront sammael before he really knew how to control his ability to channel so a confrontation would probably led to Rand’a death or at least the death of a lot of his Tairen army against the illianers. Instead of winning the loyalty of most of the best warriors of Randland(the Aiel) and taking Cairhien.So he’s absolutely right to not always listen to Moraine.
