Can anyone provide an explanation of exactly what these posted demand vs market figures are actually calculated from?
They are colorful and all, but what are they actually measuring and where is the supporting data being mined from?

I know y'all don't want to believe it, but the show is a hit. Whether you like it or not, the parrot analytics data show that it succeeded.
Does anyone even understand what Parrot Analytics measures? It is not any metrics similar to viewership, say like Nielsen measures in the US.
Based on the company's own statements, it seems like given enough money and resources the results can be influenced rather easily. Kind of like a case of any publicity is good publicly.

NYT attempts to break down the startup research company’s hazy measurement of streaming show stickiness
I find the last paragraph in the linked article rather telling."We here at Next TV have referenced the demand expressions metric in the past, and will likely continue to judiciously leverage it in the future. But we’re still not sure we entirely understand it, or are entirely sold on its efficacy. " -

Critics also say that Rafe is ruining the entire project, but he knows and loves the books. Surely by this logic, someone as well versed in the books as Rafe should have written the best episodes?
By this logic, since I know and love the books, I can therefore write episodes that exceed the drivel that has been so far produced? Well, I did minor in English Literature....
In the quoted scenario, we are assuming Rafe is a talented screen writer. Being generous, I think the jury is still out on that.

Again I receive the Bela reaction. What does this mean, friends?
I use it for a post that provides a dependable insight or response.

It's interesting that you contrast Lan against that scene specifically.
That scene is hilariously bad as a living action scene. (Assuming you mean first episode). The Crossbow gets off one shot when at minimum there should have been two, the opponents all politely move in one at a time with the camera carefully off them so you don't have to watch them wait patiently in line to die. The two with Shields hold their shields well behind them never even trying to use them.
Honestly, it's a very sad scene that almost yanked me out of the episode at the time. Not because Calvil was bad but because there's no situation where 6 armed people and an archer go get killed one at a timeThis critique reminds me of many similar comments that a certain cold open in WoT the show stirred up.
I guess perceptions on plausibility depend on what lens you are viewing a particular series through.
Just goes to show that we all have our our own showblindness.

However Witcher season 2 dumps on the books and lore totally, entire stories are just made up most of the book it is based on are ignored. It is the Witcher in that it has the characters but it is not an adaptation in any way.
So, just like WoT season 1 for some folks. ?

You're arguing Lan should magically defy the laws of physics and reality. If he's not on the wrong side then the trollocs on said "wrong" side stab Moraine. You cannot be in two places at once. You're literally complaining that something completely reasonable in a fight against multiple opponents happened and further that Lan couldn't break reality to still avoid it.
I view this as a fantasy show and if anyone can accept Shiaine's blood snow acrobatics during labor as plausible, surely being in two places at once is not out of the realm of what could be taken for possible.

It was not the Dark One
And we know this how?
This is a new turning of the Wheel, relying on the book version for plot has been chanted over and over as a clear path to frustration.
WAFO is the only proper action to understand what is going to happen, or so I thought...

@orbops Amazon is very happy with the show, so 8 seasons is entirely doable.
Other than greenlighting a second season, is there any additional documentation in the public realm to validate this statement?
I hope additional seasons will lead to a better product, but a franchise losing momentum when it should be building it, makes for a less than promising long-term prognosis.

The grolm has jumped.
Was hoping it would have occurred in SE 03 or 04, but alas not.

New series recommendation
in Wheel of Time Books

I really enjoyed the Malazan, Books of the Fallen series by Erik Stevenson. Also support the The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever series recommendation.
For Sci Fi, the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons was a great read.
