    Oh no. I thought Bella was the white horse that got away from Shadar Logoth along with Mandarb and the other dark horse. But if that wasn't Bella, I'm now realizing I have no idea which horse IS Bella ;__;

Lan was on one horse holding Moiraine, & had one horse follow, neither was Bella.

The third horse that Lan, Moiraine, & Nynaeve had going into the Aes Sedai camp surely must have been brought by Nynaeve. Unless we are assuming she tracked Moiraine & Lan on foot & caught up with them. They may be trying to hype Nynaeve in the show, but I don't think they are trying to have the audience think she can on foot keep up with a horse ?

  2. Last time I read the books was close to 10 years ago, so I think that made it easier to initial miss some changes other the the great time crunch. I won't mention the changes that they made that I did not like, this is not the thread for that ?

Heck, some scenes that I don't recall being in the book I really liked the addition of, despite knowing this meant that book stuff couldn't make it in. I loved the expansion of the Logain plot & it's associated scenes. It gave some important room to explore the Aes Sedai & Warders & both Saidar & Saidin, which is vital to the world building.

Hard to tell - the dark horses all looked the same to me, but then I don't have an eye for horseflesh...

I am watching each episode at least twice because I watch once in English and once in another language. I was paying more attention, and what *slightly* distinguishes Bella (the one Egwene rides) from the other three Two River horses, which are all dark brown or black as far as I can tell... is that Bella is not all dark... She has a bit of white fur growing above her hind hooves. Alas, who knows if & when we'll see her after Shadar Logoth.

I went through all the interactions between Thom and Matt in detail (see above). Characters can be mistaken, yes. But their mistakes have to be motivated. There is no overlap between the Owyn story and Thom's experiences with Matt, except that a horse rears while they're in the beginning of a confrontation at the farm (more details above).  Matt never channels in Thom's experience, and everything else is inadequate for Thom's conclusion that he does. That may be "entirely believable" to you and others, but it doesn't reach the plausibility threshold for me.

Even if obviously (albet invisible) channelling had happened in a scene with those three, a wrongful attributation could be reasonable, though we don't even have that. I feel like with how condensed the story is, that perhaps some more bonding happened between those three off screen. They must have rode at least 24 hours, leaving the mining town at dusk, & reaching the farm at dusk. Though weeks after covered in this show in an episode, we know that it wasn't much more than maybe two days at the Aes Sedai camp. Perhaps more time passed with Thom & Rand & Matt storyline this week. They are trying to get to the White Tower. If they get there they'll probably arrive before Moiraine, but whether it will be a day or two, or more. *shrugs*

    Changes I still don't like/probably won't come around to:

#1. Saying the DR could be male/female and pump faking hard toward Eg multiple times (and now, once again - towards Nyn). It's too much change for not enough pay off. And if you changed it for "modern sensiblities" those "modern people" still won't be pleased when you keep the Dragon as [is]

Overall. I'm pretty optimistic at this point.

I speculated at one point that even though the show is keeping Saidin and Saidar that there were two ways around the DR possibility being a woman or a man by deviating from the books.

    1) Maybe on previous turnings of the Wheel that Saidar was tainted, but not permanently. Maybe the DR that binds the world & cleanses the taint just has to be the same sex/gender as the last DR that broke the world & tainted half of the source).

    2) Maybe the DR is different and has so much power not just because they are the most powerful channeller, but that they are the only known person who (eventually?) has access to both Saidin and Saidar. That both of those facts could make them unique & distinguishable, and allow the DR to be a man or woman each time.

After watching some of the Dusty Wheel's latest show this morning, I started to find theories about Layla's background this morning.  I'm also throwing some Perrin and Layla's relationship theories into the mix here.

    I've found...

    - Layla was pregnant or had a miscarriage.

    - Layla was a darkfriend.

    - Layla was a Tinker.

    - Perrin was secretly in love with Egwene.

    - Perrin wasn't the hardest worker.

    - Perrin and Layla were having money issues.

    Any others?

I was wondering if Layla wasn't at Egwene's initiation because she lost a sister to that ceremony, with how dangerous it was. It could be another, or different reason, that she isn't tight with the Women's Circle... If so, that would probably have to be an older sister, OR a sister that just passed recently (making Layla at least a bit older than Perrin in that case). Could you imagine your sister having had died in that ceremony, & knowing nothing but thinking somehow it is vital to womanhood, then going thru it yourself and how pissed off you'd be. Like, what, my village just throws young women into dangerous rapids to test them or something? Or, conversely, coming to change your mind & start thinking it is terrible because while you survived, your younger sister did not.
