It's definitely not going to be the failure that the most negative people on here are thinking, but I don't see it being as popular as The Witcher, either, if for no other reason than Prime Video has nowhere near the subscriber numbers as Netflix. Obviously, Amazon is hoping shows like this and LOTR may change that, but it'll take years for that to happen if it ever happens.
So I just googled this out of curiosity... Netflix has around 210 million subscribers, and Amazon actually claims to have over 200 million Prime subscribers now. HBO has ~150 million (as of 2017). I'm sure a lot of people use their Prime subscriptions mainly for the delivery bonuses, but at least that means they have easy access to Prime Video if they become curious about the show, because they're already paying for the service.
Does Amazon ever release stats about their shows like Netflix sometimes does? I wish we had daily ratings the way we do for network TV....

Thanks for the welcome!

In March, WiCnet does an annual poll tournament with popular characters from SFF, it gets pretty intense over on twitter haha. Moiraine actually won the entire thing a couple of years ago, I think. I know Rand got into the semis this year but lost to Gandalf.

Hi everyone!
I started the books several months ago after seeing this character I'd never heard of before, Moiraine Damodred, give Dany from GoT a run for her money at a March Madness tournament, which piqued my interest. I still don't know what possessed me to dive into such an insanely long series when high fantasy isn't even normally my genre, but my curiosity won out, and I'm so glad I committed.
I finally finished the series yesterday and just, wow. I'm in love with this universe and the characters. I miss them already, but I guess I get the show now to keep me company until I reread someday.Favourite books in the series (roughly): 3-5, 14, 2, 1... the rest is a bit of a blur
Favourite characters (no particular order, really): Rand, Aviendha, Moiraine, Lan, Nynaeve, Elayne, Birgitte, Siuan, Egwene, Mat, Asmodean, Thom, Rhuarc, Tam... and Faile wound up growing on me a lot, to my surprise.
Looking forward to chatting with y'all ?

They've cast Aviendha already!! Ahhhh!
I hope this also means she's appearing in season 2, because I don't think I can wait 2 years to see her.
