  1. Dragonmount had the following to say on twitter:

Spoke to some ppl about the WoT TV deal. Red Eagle is not creativity involved in the show. They retain electronic game rights though. Our understanding is Red Eagle will be listed as Executive Producers on the TV show but not be otherwise involved in that production.

  2. Has anyone any ideas, why there are no new announcements regarding the tv show? I am not quite sure, if this is a bad sign, but I hope it isn't...

The more time that goes by with silence, Narg thinks something along the lines of this becomes more likely

Bandersnatch needs to leak something given they have officially been gagged. All the hype, excitement and good will is rapidly dying if not dead already. Put the onus on who ever bought the rights. They've left Harriet holding a big bag of poo. Though I guess if they also left her a big pile of money she probably doesn't care that much.

  3. Narg thinks you were dreaming or confusing fan speculation..... Pretty sure it would be all over the internet if anything like that was even semi officially announced.

If the silence continues past Jordancon, Narg thinks it's not going to happen and it's been shelved.

Oh and Cindy, you can't be more definitive than "Will be a cutting edge tv series". Other than saying an air date that is :)

  4. CW could do a fun, lightweight version of WoT: The 100 is a decent show that doesn't hold back on ruthlessness, character deaths or difficult storylines. But it is very much an exception and you'd lose the opportunity to do a decent version of WoT elsewhere.

Based on the negotiations that were underway with Sony, my guess would be that Sony has bought the rights and would be discussing the project with AMC (their partner on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul). Amazon I think would be very interested as they likely want a tentpole fantasy series. Amazon have also had a massive upheaval in the way their shows are bought and operate recently, which has put a lot of projects on hold, which would also go some way to explaining the long delay since there was any news.

There is the possibility that the deal was with Sony Starz and lionsgate taking over Starz just a month after Harriet's announcement put a hold on anything being announced and lionsgate then decided to shelve WoT in favour of there Kingkiller project.
