So here I log on to report the birth of my son and find out that someone beat me to it! Thanks Nurit, for making the announcement for me.
Yes, 9 hours is a short labor. Though it came on fast and hard! I rolled out of bed at 11:30 pm for the standard midnight pee-run, and as soon as my feet hit the floor, a contraction hit. I thought nothing of it until I went to the bathroom and my water broke. From that point, contraction were about 5-8 min apart. It took Dan about an hour to get us all packed and ready to leave for the hospital. By the time we were on the road, contractions were 3-5 min. apart. By the time we got up to labor and delivery, they were more like 1-3 min. apart (and the hospital was only 15 min away!) And man, were the contractions hard hitting with barely a moment to get a breath between them. I was fully effaced when I got there, and about 3 cm dilated. I asked for an epidural. That went in about 3:30 am. At 6 am, I was fully dilated. At 8, his head was down far enough for me to start pushing. I pushed once or twice, and they lost the heartbeat (it was still beating, they just couldn't find it). Them trying to find it wasn't pleasant. After they found it, they had me push again. After about 5 pushes, his head was out. 3 more pushes and the rest of him followed.
He promptly wee-ed all over the nurses, twice, when they took him to get his vitals.
He was 7 lbs 8 oz. 20.7 in long. And absolutely beautiful.
Here is a newborn pic
And here is Connor 28 days later (today)

You had your baby shower this late?? Wow. I thought people did them a little earlier (though not too early) in case of early labor. But then you are having a planned c-section, right?

Raeyn: thanks so much for posting this for me! This month has been hell for me and I appreciate it!

Thanks everyone for the congrats.
Jade: yours is expected a lot sooner than mine, and I'm already counting down the days til I finally get to hold him!

well, I didn't include the shot with the boy-parts. That isn't nearly as clear to see. The best one I have of that is looking at him from the butt on up, so that you have a leg on either side and boy parts in the middle showing up as 3 bright little spots! Here is a link if you really want to see it, http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff221/avalonshroud/baby/STROHSCHEIN_1.jpg but it's really not that clear.

LOL I guess I'm just getting more used to reading these pictures ;-P You can see the head, make out the nose and where the eyes and mouth are (it's right in the center of the picture) and then follow the bright white dots that look like pearls down to the bottom right...that's the spine.

But I found out what I'm having on Sat. We went for a voluntary gender assessment of the baby and the tech said that it looks like a boy!
Isn't this just the BEST picture?? Sorry if it stretches your screens

Thanks so much!

Precisely! I did have one promised who is still around, but I ended up dropping out of the RP side of things due to real life sucking any hope of inspiration out of me....and i got tired of always having to go back and change my posts to appease him.
-
hehe That's another reason I never bothered to bond, other than the character trait ;-P
-
Sorry, I can't really tell you when Gaea was all approved and everything. It was back when Sabine was MoN. But that's about the closest I can guess...
-
Gaea was always strictly anti-bonding.....a unique feature since she chose Green and all LOL So, she has always remained unbonded.

Thanks Eadon...I'm sure Jade appreciates you posting this here. The way it works is the Ajah Head collects the RP's that her Ajah is doing, and then posts it all in one post in the Great Hall board for RP reports. Unfortunately, most of our Ajah's don't really have a Head at the moments, so i have been asking that the active individuals post on that thread in the Great Hall and include what Ajah they are in, a link to their RP, and a brief description (much like you just did here).

I believe so, just didn't want to overstep in case you didn't want this to be ;-P
-
Methinks this should be a sticky....
-
Yes, with one exception....but hey, can't win them all!
