  1. Hey, I was thinking my character is a little too generic right now so i figured I need to spice things up a little bit. I figure since my character is an archer it might be interesting for him to lose the use of his hands for a little while. I was thinking of having a small group (basically anyone that wants to) of us from the band go out on 'small group maneuvers' and while we're out and about we run into an asha'man gone insane...we get into a battle and try and contain him...somewhere along the way my hands get burned (possibly saving someone? who knows) and then the black tower will jump in and hunt the guy down and finish him for us. Anyone wanna join in on the RP?

  2. Hey, I was needing to spice up my character's background and I'm needing some help from you guys. Since my character is an archer in the band, I was thinking that it might be interesting if he lost the use of his hands for a while. I was thinking that what I want to do is have the band be out on some small group maneuvers, just like maybe 4 or 5 members tops, when an asha'man that has gone crazy stumbles across them...a small battle ensues in which Ruraks hands get burned, then you guys show up to help take him down. Anyone interested?

  3. A fourth person emerged out of the darkness, it was Saira! Rurak had just recently finished up a training session in archery with her. From the looks of things she was really working herself hard, maybe a little too hard. Well...hopefully she would know when to stop herself. Smiling, Rurak picked out one of the guards by the gate. "Hey Saira, if you can tell me how far away the guard on the left is and how high to adjust your bow, I'll give you a slice of this here meat."

Hearing a rumble from across the campfire, Rurak spoke again "Well it looks like this things just about cooking and none too soon for you Elynde, a pleasure to meet you, and Jehryn was it? Well I'm glad you joined our little campfire, the Infirmary isn't that great a place to be hanging out I imagine, especially with what they're feeding you. In my opinion a good couple servings of meat will do a lot better good for you than most of your time in that infirmary there. Light, I've missed out on so much in the band between my two leaves. This latest one was a lot longer, so much has changed. I wouldn't have traded my experiences out there in the world for anything, but it's good to be back where you can make a difference..."

After an awkward silence, Rurak finally broke in "all right, fine, I'll start things off and tell a bit of my travels. You know what was the most amazing thing about the places I went? I loved being next to the shore, hearing the waves crashing against the rocks. Light, you don't find much more beatiful places than next to the ocean. I've traveled almost all the major cities this side of the dragonwall, been thrown out of all the ones that I did visit" Rurak said with a wry smile. "My favorite has got to be Camelyn. There are some more beautiful cities, tis true, but Camelyn is still close to home, and stays close to its people. There's a feeling like people care. At least I didn't get as bad treatment as usual there, I merely got politely asked to leave....backed by a couple of strong guards to see me gone! A those were the days...sadly, there is no peace in this world. That's why I had to come back here, to the band. It's the only way we're gonna bring that peace to these good folk, by bringing the dark one down one darkfriend and one trolloc at a time til they're all gone, or we are." Sitting back, Rurak realized he had been speaking a little strongly. Lauging at himself to try and lighten the mood, Rurak spoke again "wow, I seem to have stirred myself up if no one else, but it looks like the foods ready, and the light willing maybe the food will help ease the mood."

  4. Okay, this was definitely going to take some re-thinking. So far he had not really had too much trouble in his training programs. Of course, he had never really run into anyone that had literally no background in archery.

"All right, do you remember what I said earlier about where to draw the string to? Bring it all the way back so that your hand is behind your jaw, that way you always know how to adjust your shooting. Got it? Okay, now the next step is to figure out how far away the target is. This target is a little further out than the last one. See those flags along the side of the target? Those are distance markers. Each flag represents 10 yards, making this target 70 yards out. Now, the arrow will stay flat for 40 yards right? So now that you've got the draw right...just raise the bow a quarter inch for every 20 yards past 40, so that means raising the bow 2 1/4 inches right? Now try the shot..."

Standing back, Rurak could definitely see improvement. "All right, from now on whenever I see you I'm gonna pick something out and have you tell me how far away the target is and how much to raise your bow to hit it, all right? Now, I want you to keep practicing on this target until you can get all of your arrows into the middle yellow ring."

OOC: Just go ahead and roleplay the practice until you get the grouping right. If you want, you can roleplay for Rurak giving you more instruction, then we'll move onto the next section.

  5. OOC: all right, no one's posted on this in a while so I'm gonna have my character pull Saira aside while you guys keep shooting and finish her training, then whenever you guys show up I can finish yours as well.

IC: Light, things were shaping up to seem like he might have to take things a different route than usual this time around in the training. Stepping forward, Rurak put a hand on Saira's shoulder. "You're doing great for a beginner, but since it's clear that you haven't used a bow before I'd like to take you aside and train you one on one for now, I'll be back to finish up these two's training in a bit, they'll be able to take care of themselves for the time being."

Walking further up the range where he could train Saira off on his own, Rurak stepped in closer to Saira so as not to be overheard by others nearby. "Look Saira, I don't want you to feel embarassed by anything that's been going on so far. Those other two have had a lifetime around a bow. I'd be willing to put money on it that Arutha over there has spent a considerable amount of time hunting woods similar to these, and heather is already an archer, she was probably just looking for some minute refinements on her archery skills, so there's nothing to be worried about. Now, try it all again, just knock the arrow for me and draw it back, this time I want to work on your form a little bit." Stepping over to a nearby set of bows, Rurak selected one with about 15 pounds less on the draw. "Now, I want you to use this bow so that you can hold the arrow on the string longer so that I can help correct your stance and firing." Watching as she knocked the arrow, Rurak stepped in close to adjust her body positioning. It was a slightly awkward position to be in, truth be told, but they were training and it never really entered into Rurak's mind. He put one foot behind hers and spread her stance so that it was level with her shoulders. "You've gotta keep it about here to maintain balance and accuracy."

Watching as she sighted down the arrow, Rurak could see that her aim wasn't quite on and that she was trying to adjust with the arms. Reaching out, Rurak locked her elbows to keep her from shortening the arms then put his hands on her shoulders and gently guided her body around and up until the arrow was about where it should be to hit the target. "That's how you should be moving your body when you shoot, and if I don't mistake things, you should be able to hit a pretty good shot on that target now, as long as you follow those tips. remember, breathe and hold, and don't pull up on the bow." Stepping back, Rurak expected to see a lot of improvement just in the next few shots.

  6. "We'll kiss the girls be they short or..." Rurak's singing was cut off by what seemed to be a woman's voice breaking across the grounds.

"Maybe we could save the dancing with old Jak until after we have a hot meal in our bellies?" Glancing towards the sound of the voice, Rurak couldn't quite catch the face as it was shrouded by shadows flickering from the firelight. A sizeable flask dangled from a hand though and Rurak thought he saw some sort of smile flicker across the lady's features. "If you have enough to share that is."

"Be welcome to my fire, there is enough to share, the light willing, have a seat I'll just..."

"Good evening," A voice rasped to him out from the darkness."Mind if I sit?" Looking towards the voice, Rurak found a man, heavily bandaged. Light, that wound must have been painful. A fire from the looks of it, and probably damage done to the throat if Rurak didn't miss his guess. However, something else brought him up short. He hadn't had a chance to personally meet this man as of yet, but had seem him around in passing, and from the way everyone reacted around him, must be some person of no small rank. Returning the man's salute with in kind and adding a slight nod of the head Rurak spoke. "Be welcome to the fire, have a seat." Rurak got up and rolled over a couple of stumps "These are left over from the training I was giving some archers a bit ago. I had already planned to set up a small fire here and asked them to leave these behind. Be careful though, they've probably got some splinters here and there from practice."

Settling down on a log of his own close to the spit, Rurak resumed turning while speaking. "Truth be told sir, you're welcome to some food as well. I just got this on here, but was planning for others such as yourselves to come. I recently re-signed with the band here after a long leave and right now I am lacking in people that I know, so I thought I'd lure a few hungry souls in for some free food and a little company. Pardon my manners by the way, my name is Rurak...Rurak Gistere, Sergeant of the Archers. So tell me a little of yourselves, you sir look to be a man who has seen much in your time here, what wisdom do you have to impart to a poor lost soul such as myself?" Rurak put in with a wide grin. "And you good lady, it is not every day that one finds a woman among the ranks of the military. Yours must be quite the story to tell...though if it be troubling, then do not bother such a beautiful night with the telling." The woman had a certain fire in her eyes, and not solely from the reflection of the campfire. She was a strong one, and any man dumb enough to cross her was likely to soon be awakened to a new understanding. Rurak had become good at reading people over the years, he had to, what with having to know how a crowd would react to his 'preaching.' Wearing the bandages made it harder for him to read the other man, but one thing was for sure...the man had probably become estranged from a normal life by them. Throwing on a little bit more seasoning, Rurak let the night and the voices from around the citadel pass the time and set the mood.

  7. Glancing towards the wall, Davian noticed a knife stuck in the wall. This mistress definitely fell under the exceptional few. From the looks of things, she could probably handle more weapons than he had years without thinking. Light, okay, don't panic...just come up with a good enough cover story and she'll let you in. You've come up with good stuff in pressure situations in the past...come on...aha! Telling sad stories usually would get people to sympathize and want to help you. It should be enough to get him in.

"Well...umm...ma'am. See I come from Cairhienin, and my father, he was a wealthy shopkeeper. Well...at least...he was. He was coming back from a trip to andor getting supplies. Those black veiled aiel killed my pa as he was coming back to the city and took his supplies. I came here because everyone says this place is the best for learning to fight, and well ma'am, I wanna learn to fight and pay them back, to fight for the light!

A stirring speech, Davian thought, now if only it would go over with the lady behind the desk.

  8. OOC: just thought this would be a good chance to start establishing some relationships and a good chance to have some conversational RP. Anyone's welcome to join in.

Rurak hunkered down next to the flames he had been getting going. It was getting chilly out, especially with the sun finally heading down. The latest batch of new archers had recieved their training, now all he had to do was just watch them practice and make minor adjustments. Hopefully they'd be ready in time before any upcoming major engagements.

Rurak glanced up at the sky. It was a perfect cloudless night and the stars shone brightly. Beautiful night. One of those nights where you could just like back and contemplate anything and everything from why the bugs would only crawl into his left boot when he put them on in the mornings, to his very existence. That line of reasoning was dangerous though...what if you thought yourself out of existence?

Carefully setting up a spit Rurak slowly began to rotate the meat over the fire. It was a rather large amount of food to be eating all by himself, but Rurak had the feeling that the smell of fresh cooked meat wafting over the Citadel would quickly attract an eager following of people that would just happen to be passing by and willing to share his fire. Well, that wouldn't bother him a bit. After all, he was in a good mood this night and feeling like a little company. So much had changed this second time back with the band and he needed time to figure things out and really get to know some people. Truth be told he didn't really have any friends as of yet. He had never had many to begin with, and those that he had, seemed to have moved on to bigger and better things. Or moved on in different ways....

No, not something to dwell on for a night like this. Rummaging through his pack, he found some seasoning to throw over the meat. If they hadn't come yet, that would definitely attract the scavengers. Smiling to himself, Rurak settled in to wait and began singing what had become the band's theme song, jack o' the shadows, to pass the time.

  9. Light Rurak had forgotten what it was like to be in leadership, Right now that meant, training all the time which also now that meant he had just finished up training 3 at a time and was starting on another personal training session for a recruit named Shaylor.

He hadn't really seen her around much since she had first come through the gates. Of course, he hadn't gotten hurt lately, so that would make sense. His last encounter with Shaylor had ended badly. It wasn't that he couldn't handle someone flirting with him, but it had been a long watch and his mind had still been groggy. Well...not something to dwell on. Rurak was actually surprised that Shaylor had time off to train.  Medics never seemed to have much free time. Archers on the other hand...no horses to take care of, no weapons to sharpen...speaking of weapons...

Heading off to the fletcher, Rurak stopped by to pick up some arrows. "Now these are the best you've got right?" "Of course sir, and at cut rate prices for an officer such as yourself." Rurak picked up an arrow and sighted down the shaft. The arrows looked good, but he was still going to have fire these for a while and winnow them down to a matched set. Fishing around in his pocket, Rurak came up with the necessary coinage and headed for the range to test the new batch of arrows.

The resistance of the string felt good, it always felt good. Drawing the arrow to cheek, Rurak took a breath and held it, eliminating all distractions, it was just him and the target. It was only a 100 foot target and the arrow went right into the center of the ring. Not dead center, but close enough. Rurak became lost in the rhythmic flow of knock and loose, knock and loose, quickly forgetting all concepts of time.

  10. Light, just moments in and already he had managed to get onto somebody's bad side. What had he done? Maybe the man was offended that someone so small would have the nerve to try and become a warder? Maybe that was it, but you gotta start somewhere right? Hopefully this didn't bode ill for his future prospects here. Mistress of Trainees sounded like a better bet. After all...how tough could a woman be on the new guys? Of course...he had seen some pretty tough mistresses in Cairhienin....Well, if it came down to it he could lie his way out of it, that course hadn't failed him often before.

Thanking the hulking trainer out in the yard, Davian headed for the door that the man...Perivar? had pointed out. Knocking, Davian heard someone within shout "enter!" and slipped inside. The mistress, whoever she was was facing away from him so he didn't get a chance to read who she was so he decided to go with hesitancy. Always better for people to underestimate you. "Umm...mistress? A man out there directed me to see you if I wanted to become a warder so uh..here I am!"

  11. Standing back and watching Heather, Rurak couldn't help but smile. She was confident...perhaps overconfident, but he liked that. She was a good shot and looked like she had been shooting a while. Not too surprising since she was an archer. However, despite her confidence, Rurak could see a few things that could use improving. Maybe he'd have a little fun as well, show the recruits how it's done. Stepping forward, Rurak spoke up

"All right, that was pretty good shooting there Heather...except for that first shot. I was watching from the side and I noticed why that shot went so high. There is a common tendency when shooting to pull up on the bow after firing...sometimes this happens just as you are releasing your arrow and it causes you to pull your arrow up and over the target. There isn't a trick to correct this, you just need to be constantly aware of it. Another point to take in is about your stance. Once your bow is drawn you do not move your arms. Period. All movement of the body to aim your shot is to be done by the waist. If your target moves so that you can't rotate to hit them then you replant your feet, but never move the arms. You'll never be able to shoot accurately if you move your arms around to make a shot. Here, I'll demonstrate the correct way to shoot and you can watch and take notice over the different points I've just outlined."

Stepping up to the line Rurak planted three arrows in the ground and nocked a fourth. drawing it back to his cheek. Sighting down on the target, Rurak focused in on it, excluding everything else from his mind. It was just him and the arrow. Taking a deep breath, Rurak held it, then loosed the arrow. It landed right next to the one Heather had shot into the center. Loosing two more, he surrounded Heather's arrow, then taking the fourth and final arrow, Rurak held it for an extra second or two, making sure he had the aim right, then loosed, shafting the arrow.

"With practice and keeping all the basics I've just taught to you, eventually you'll be able to make shots like that at much further distances than the 50 yards that you see in front of you. Now, I want you to all go through and take shots at your target til you can group them within the middle ring at 100 yards, then we'll move on to the next phase. If you keep in mind what I've taught you it shouldn't be too difficult to hit that target at 100."

  12. Apologies to those that are in my roleplays, I've been busy this week in school. Got a programming test later today that I'll probably fail but I'm trying to study for it anyways, and after that I'll be home free to finish those posts. Sorry to keep everyone waiting.

  13. The niceties out of the way, Rurak and Shaylor headed for the door. He was stopped however by her hand on his. Stunned...he could only stare as she thanked him for his kindness. He didn't dare say anything for fear of making a fool of himself so he simply nodded, then motioned her through the door. The quartermaster helped get all of her things for her. Measuring for clothes and gear. Apparently all the herbs and things were off in the infirmary, Where Shaylor would have to report to the next day for work and training.

Noticing how fatigued Shaylor was getting though, Rurak decided to take her straight to her quarters. The buildings were sqat, designed simply to provide shelter and nothing more. The medics seemed to have things better than the rest of the regiments, but no one was about to complain about partial treatment to those who were going to save your life.

"Here you go ma'am. I must return to my post, the corporal has been left in charge long enough. However, if you need anything, just send word to the archers, it'll get to me somehow, or of course talk to your own superior officer. I hope you rest well and enjoy your stay here with the band of the red hand."

And with that, Rurak set her saddlebags inside, turned and strode back to the gates of the citadel while he tried to forget about the newest medic. Likely he wouldn't run into her again for a while. He hoped he didn't run into her for a while, otherwise it would mean something dire had happened.

  14. After having gotten fitted for all their stuff and chowing down on a nice warm meal, Rurak led them off to the barracks. They were simple buildings meant to perform their given function and no more. Inside the barracks were crowded with soldiers. No one seemed to glance twice at the newest private, after all, new recruits were coming in all the time. They did take askance however at Rurak. After all, it's not often you seem someone coming away from the quartermaster's with a crisp Uniform and the rank of a Sargeant. Rurak gave those with questioning glances with a cool nod.

Feeling a little stifled by the press of soldiers, Rurak helped settle Arutha in his bunk and then took him on a tour of the citadel. He showed him the armory, the different yards for swordfighting, horsemanship, and archery. They got lost quite frequently since things had changed a bit, but neither of them cared. Finally at the end of the night they grabbed some food from a group of soldiers at the campfire. After passing the night enjoying the company, Rurak turned to Arutha. "all right, best if we turn in now, we've got a long day ahead of us, and I'll see you bright and early for archery training down at the range. Don't stay up too late." And with that, Rurak headed off to his bed.

  15. Shaylor took a few moments again to respond. She seemed to be sizing up the stablehand, who apparently was found satisfactory. She gave short instruction on what was needed and then while the stablehand was getting the necessary stuff, she began taking off the saddle and gear. Rurak would have offered to help, but truth be told he mistrusted horses a great deal...especially after having taken all that horsemanship from the cavalry. Horses were fickle creatures and seemed to take issues with Rurak. Best to let the lady handle her own animal, it would trust her.

Apparently finally satisfied with the way things were, Shaylor spoke. “Well, my father gave her to me when I was a little girl.  I am from a minor house in Ghealden, and have grown up with her.” She then slipped the saddlebags down and paid the stableboy. With how many coins she had given out he wasn't surprised to hear she was nobly born. Maybe she was just grateful. Despite that, she seemed to be struggling with the bags. "Here, let me get those for you." Rurak said, stepping forward and...waiting for her permission he slung one bag over his shoulder and carried the other in his off hand."now where do you want to lead me"

"Well...first stop for you will be the recruiter's office. You'll have to sign a contract with the band of the red hand and foreswear all allegiance to previous countries, but that's nothing to worry about. After that I'll take you to the quartermaster's who will see to it that you have the proper uniform and necessary equipment for your particular division. For you I would assume that would mean herbs, unless you brought some with you? Anyway, The final stop I guess will be to your quarters. You look like you could use a rest. now, if you'll follow me, the recruiters is this way."

They walked for a bit, and Rurak seemed to be in an unusually talkative mood. "You know, it was only a few days ago that I was here re-enlisting with the band. I'd been away from it for a while for...personal reasons. I got to see the world but I knew my place was here. Anyhow...here's the recruiter's office." Rurak said as he pulled open the doors. Striding into the room Rurak saluted the man behind the desk. "Sir, I have the newest would be recruit for the band. I'll turn her over to you for now." With that, Rurak stepped out of the way and took a seat off to the side to allow the recruiter to interview Shaylor.

The recruiter simply studied Shaylor for a while. Rurak had been around long enough to know that this was simply to put her off, to test her resolve to join. "Well...let me know why the band of the red hand should even enlist someone as yourself. From the looks of you, you're not overly familiar with weapons, though you carry that gladius well. What do you have to offer the band? Should you join you will be required to foreswear all previous allegiances and from the looks of you you're nobly born. Are you prepared to give up those ties?"

  16. Rurak watched the first two take their places. Arutha performed as expected...showing some insight that Rurak made a mental note of. Saira however...well, it was his own fault. He should have realized that she probably had never really used the bow before. After she failed to knock the arrow properly, Rurak stepped forward and showed her how to hold the bow and fire it. At least she fired it in a straight line, though it fell far short of the target. Stepping forward before Heather had a chance to shoot, Rurak decided to impart some advice so that Heather could learn from them, and also perhaps to help Saira out. He felt bad for having chewed her out, and now especially for being shown up here on the range. He probably should have taught them first before practice since Saira didn't know the first thing about bows. Oh well, water under the bridge I guess.

"All right, so far so good. Saira, don't worry about it, I understand that you've never used a bow before...now I'm here to give you some tips. First off...determining distance to a target. The first skill you're going to have to learn is to judge the distance to your target. This isn't something that can be taught...From now on, I want you to mentally make judgements as to how far away targets are in your head, then go and figure it out for yourself. This one's given for you...The target is 100 yards away. The reason your shot fell short was for a couple of reasons Saira...one of them being that you had your sight set low. I imagine that you probably put your arrow directly on the bullseye, is that correct?" Rurak merely waited for a nod from her before continuing. "The thing is, that you actually need to adjust your aim higher the further out the shot goes. The shot will remain flat for the first about 30 to 40 yards, but after that it's going to drop. You need to adjust your aim by raising your bow about a quarter inch for every 20 yards out the target is. That target is 50 yards out, so you'd set your bow directly on the bullseye, then raise it a quarter inch."

"Your other problem was how far back you drew the string, it didn't have enough power. You need to draw the string all the way back to your cheek. Also, a little tip for all of you...this a principle of focus...bring your hand all the way back so that your hand can rest behind your jawbone, then set the tip of the nose to your string as you sight down the arrow...This will help improve your accuracy. I also want to call attention to something Arutha did that was good. If you noticed his breathing pattern, he took a breath and then held it and THEN fired. This is very important as your breathing shifts your body and can shift your arrow off target, so make sure to hold your breath before firing to minimize movement. There will be more tips in a moment but let's see how Heather does with what I've imparted so far."

  17. Rurak walked for a while Shaylor, watching as she took in the sights of the citadel. It really was an impressive sight. Rurak allowed her the silence to take things in. Finally after a brief walk she began to speak.

“Well, Lieutenant Gister,” she said, using his formal name, “to answer your question, I am in search of my brother, Derek.  He is my age, a bit taller than I, and has dark hair but the same green eyes.” She seemed to stare into his eyes to make the point. It was all starting to make him feel a bit uncomfortable. “He is an amazing swordmaster, and had run away from our family after…” Rurak figured that since he had opened with his title, it would hardly do to ask here to drop it now.

"Anyways, I know that he wanted to join an Army and fight for a cause, so I have searched many a places.  I heard rumors of the Band, as you call it, and decided to test my luck.  Irregardless of him being here or not, I would like to join, or at least stay here.  I have no where else to really go, and I have traveled a long way and am weary of the road, day in and out.”

As they continued to walk, they passed a stable and Shaylor stopped them in front of it. She seemed to have a great affection for the horse she was leading...even kissing it. Expecting some comment about the horse he was surprised when she continued to list her skills. “I am an amazing healer and excel at herbs, if you have any need of medics…”  She seemed to look around as if searching for something. “I am sorry to be a bother, but is there any chance I can take care of my horse?  I know she is just as tired as me and needs a good rub down.  After that, I will gladly go anywhere you need to take me.”

"My apologies..." Light, why was he attempting all these manners all of a sudden? Things were definitely not going the way he would have expected, especially since according to Shaylor's intentions she would probably soon become one of the newest privates for the band of the red hand. Mentally taking hold of himself Rurak continued. "It seems that you might be looking for a stablehand? I can have him take care of your horse for you if you wish while I can get you signed up and settled in, though if you prefer to take care of him yourself, that is understandable. I don't pretend to understand horses. I prefer the ground under my feet, but I've noticed that many in the cavalry prefer to take care of their own horse personally. It's a beautiful animal..where did you come by it?"

  18. OOC: oh, my bad. I seem to have read it wrong, you're right your character didn't stumble across it, she specifically went looking for it.

IC: Rurak perked up from his position along the gate where he had guard duty. There seemed to be a single traveler coming down the road. Rurak quietly signaled a couple of the guards to ready their weapons but the rest simply looked for other targets. It wasn't uncommon for people to come through here. Stepping to the gate Rurak asked the traveler her business.

"My name is Shaylor, and I am seeking refuge and searching for my brother.  I carry only a gladius, which I will hand over, and I am alone."

Nodding to himself, Rurak silently waved her over while waving his hand to get the rest of the soldiers to stand down. After all, he still had his bow half knocked and it didn't matter who the person was, short of being a shadowspawn his arrow would take them down."One moment" She said, and before he had a chance to say anything, the women began to take off what seemed to be extra layers of clothes. A bit uncomfortable, Rurak turned slightly away, but still remained watchful. It seemed though that she simply wanted to be out of the extra clothes because once she had everything off and her clothes settled, she spoke up "I am from Ghealden.  And you are?  Oh, and do you want my weapon?  I will hand it over if you promise to return it to me."

"I am from here in the Two Rivers and my name is Lieutenant Rurak Gistere." Wow, this lady must have flustered him more than he thought, he never used his rank. "You make keep your weapon, you'll find that you won't make it far if you want to cause trouble here. There are plenty of soldiers around to stop that. And I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. What business do you have with the band of the red hand to have come all the way here to the citadel? If you would come this way..." Rurak slung his bow over his shoulder and picked up his quarterstaff from where it lay against the wall. "Corporal, you have the command here til I return." Rurak said to the soldier nearest him. He really wasn't sure where to take her as of yet...She seemed to have been just passing through, but this was awfully out of the way...
