  1. I think he suspected but was not completely sure, basically what most of us felt like, so it being confirmed wasn't shocking. All that later passage told me was he expected Thom to share it because he thought Thom wouldn't believe he could have figured it out on his own (and as a friend he should have told Mat the very important information he was missing about Noal). I think they both figured it out and Thom thought it was so obvious Mat could figure it out so there was no need for him to tell. Or perhaps he didn't think it was his secret to share.

  2. I could imagine Rand screaming at Moridin that when he turned to the dark he made one critical error: he disregarded the chance of the light winning once and for all (in far more eloquent words, of course). And Moridin managing to redeem himself in his final act. He went to the shadow out of despair, give a man with no hope hope and anything can happen.

  3. A Question, when Rand fights the Seanchans near Ebou Dar (and even right after the supergirls use the Bowl of Winds) the use of both saidar and saidin is more than problematic. They talk of the One Power not doing what they want, the Damane being suck, saidin pulsating etc... It's easy to guess that it's related to the heavy use of the One Power during the wheather being put back to normal, but I don't remember having once a clear explanation on the why it did this to the One Power on both the male and female sides whereas the Cleansing of saidin didn't do anyhting but... cleansing with amounts of saidin and saidar woven being so much more massive.

Was it because there were no male channeler present to weave saidin?

What exactly happened to the True Source there? Has it been removed? Do we even know?

I believe this was caused by the explosion of the gateway, NOT the bowl of winds. We know for a fact that a disrupted weave can have devastating consequences for nearby channelers (even severing them). So i take it to be that the gateway's explosion created a "disruption" in the balance of the one power, which would affect both saidar and saidin in the region.

  4. We know that they can affect one another through the link, so how is Moridin going to be affected by Rand's answer in VoG? Moridin turned because he was certain that one day the DO would win, so if anyone is vulnerable to truly repenting and turning back to the light it is him. He fell to his own logic, but logic can be used to save him from himself. So now the question becomes, how much of the new Rand will rub off on him?

(personally i think the DO made him nae'blis in order to keep him close because he feared that Moridin's connection with Rand may turn him).
