Sorry that clicking on the image doesn't work!
The title of the work is also a link to the same page, and the artist's name links to their gallery page.
Let me know if clicking on the title doesn't work and I'll post the link here.

Yes, but the ravens are a Seanchan/DO thing and I thought it distracted from the point of the painting, which is the tension between Rand and Egwene over the breaking of the seals. Since they both agree on the Seanchan, I didn't want to highlight that. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I've already outlined the birds in pen or I might go change it (to reflect the omnipresence of the twin threats, or to highlight Egwene's particular hatred for the Seanchan).
You're not the first to see the doves and go "eh?" And now I've started doing it :P

The doves are inadequate, I agree, but I needed something to balance the composition and couldn't think of anything better. My problem with Callandor is that the blade is supposed to be curved, but that made it look silly. We'll see how it looks once it's painted. anyway, enough about me :) thanks for the comments!

I really wish she would do one! I don't do her justice, but if you're interested I'm working on a painting of Rand/Egwene inspired by her style [link]

thank you for saying :)
I take it from your avatar that you're a fan of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law? She is my favorite artist!

Just fixed the problem with the links for this week ...
To the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been any official news on this since Universal Pictures acquired the rights in 2008. We can hope the success of G.R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire on HBO will provide some impetus, though ...

The links to the enlarged pictures weren't working for me on a Mac running Firefox 11, but otherwise, great post. :-)
bummer ... were you clicking the title of the image or the image itself? I'm trying to figure out a good way to link to the originals

you're very welcome! don't worry, I'll keep them coming :)

thanks! tnsabregirl, it sounds like we have similar tastes :) so you're probably going to see a lot more of your favorites over the next several months!

Brandon's thoughts just make me sad because it means we will never get to read 20% of the book! I'd rather they released it as-is right now, though I am enjoying the anticipation.
I will be taking my PhD qualifiers the whole week after this comes out, which means I won't have time to even crack open the cover. Not their fault, but probably the worst week they could have chosen for me personally!

All of solitarium's and RoseMuse's sketches of Mat on deviantart are awesome and should definitely be checked out! But my favorite WOT fanartist (especially for epically wonderful Mat art) is Forbis, also on deviantart. Her stuff is incredibly sophisticated (though you have to dig through the gallery to find it behind a lot of other really excellent harry potter art).

I'll have to look for some more obscure art :) Unfortunately, it's a fairly small art community ... since you follow it, you've probably seen most of the great stuff before!
