thats not what the text says tho... this time, the woman was incapable of initiating it... she tried, and the link was only created when the man initiated, which is an error...

and of the AS/AM bonded pairs, we've been told that women have been able to see the flows, and feel the power(taint) flowing... this time, she felt nothing, which again, is an error...

I agree that the text does seem to be in error. But maybe it is just us that are.

If we look at this from the way woman and men grasp the power. Woman surrenders, man seizes. Does this not explain why women can link and men cannot? Does it not also state that the one initiating the link is the one that surrenders?

In the case of Nynaeve and Rand: Nynaeve, already holding the power surrenders to Rand who then seizes the power from her.

In the case of Pevara and Androl: Pevara not holding the power surrenders to Androl, who then seizes the power through her.

There has been occasional mention of forced links. I think Moridin mentions it as some of the funkiness the savages have discovered, somewhere. Maybe this guy learned a somewhat different way of doing things.

The overall pace is really slow... That makes things worrying if the book isn't decently long.

As for quality and style. Brandon didn't want to copy RJ's style for some reason, and even earlier it just didn't feel like RJ's work or storytelling. Apparently Harriet isn't as much of a fan as some of us are. heh.

The forced link was Moridin's thoughts on the a'dam, how the damane are forced to link with the sul'dam. If I remember correctly.
