M'bela looked over the intiates gathered in the hall infront of her, they where going outside the fortress. Checking her list she made sure all was present and then lead the way down towards the cellars, specificaly to a larger room set of for this use. She lead them in and to one side of the room, a Mae'shadar should soon be with them, they could have gone riding but apart from the time it would take it would also pose a risk.

It was bether this way, less chanse of nosy discovery from Aes Sedai and such, specialy for their male students, should any of them come to channel where anyone would see it then they would have been sure to have the red ajah on their heels.

As she waited she turned and looked at the class, this should give them valuable experience in interacting with others, as well as the class in weaponry they would be taking. "I hope all have packed as intructed and not forgoten anything, least of all the instruction of cautiousness, it would be ill if we drew unwanted attention to the place. However see it as an exelent lesson in managing without the one power, there is always times when you are bether of doing things without it, be it you are in someplace you do not want anyone to know your ability, or that you are tired from spending a lot of energy for some reason or another, even as you know the reason can be channeling in itself."

She heard the sound of footsteps outside and turned to greet the higher ranking dreadlord as he entered.

Cold reasoning and logic. Those two facts of life were a luxury which Ayrik Drayven enjoyed. However, it did sometimes lead him to... complications. He was a man who could channel, but channeling would not always be an option. He might be shielded. He might be in a place where saidin was denied to him. He might be on an undercover mission. Ayrik knew that his size afforded him an advantage in intimidation; many would be discouraged from fighting with him simply because of his size. However, that would not always be the case. Ergo, some sort of self-defense capability would be nessecary. It was that line of logic that led him to where he was now: standing in one of the halls of the Fortress, the Dreadlady who had been in charge of his tour on his first day standing before the gathered students.

As soon as she was satisfied that those who were supposed to be present were there, the Dreadlady led the entire assembly towards the cellars. Ayrik rarely went down to those levels himself. Despite all the logic that he could throw in its direction, Ayrik simply couldn't function very well in closed spaces. It was something that he would have to deal with on his own. It was to one of the larger rooms that she led the group, moving everybody to one side. Ayrik took a moment to examine his surroundings. This room, though belowground, was obviously used for something. For what, though, he couldn't say.

The Dreadlady broke the silence: "I hope all have packed as intructed and not forgoten anything, least of all the instruction of cautiousness, it would be ill if we drew unwanted attention to the place. However see it as an exelent lesson in managing without the one power, there is always times when you are bether of doing things without it, be it you are in someplace you do not want anyone to know your ability, or that you are tired from spending a lot of energy for some reason or another, even as you know the reason can be channeling in itself." Patting the satchel hanging from his shoulder, Ayrik ran through everything that he had packed, just to be sure he was ready. He was. Let's do this, he thought, satisfied.

M’bela’s cold-eyed stare swept across the class one more time. Drak had become accustomed to her penetrating gaze, but the woman seemed to be there every time he was learning something. He was growing tired of her self-important attitude.

“I hope all have packed as instructed and not forgotten anything,” she intoned “least of all the instruction of cautiousness, it would be ill if we drew unwanted attention to the place. However see it as an excellent lesson in managing without the One Power, there is always times when you are better off doing things without it, be it you are in someplace you do not want anyone to know your ability, or that you are tired from spending a lot of energy for some reason or another, even as you know the reason can be channeling in itself.”

As she turned to face the door and the approaching footsteps, Drak smirked silently. As if anyone would be so stupid as to forget something she had instructed them to bring. If they were so inane, then he’d be glad to never see them again. That kind of incompetence was best purged early. He certainly wouldn’t want to be involved with anyone that couldn’t follow simple instructions.

Scanning the group, he took note of who was there, but was especially keen on who wasn’t in attendance. There were several other “students” who had been here at least as long as himself as well as some relatively new faces, but there were a large number of new recruits who were not present. I wonder why that is? Are they too stupid to see the value of weapon lore? Are they skilled enough to not need the lessons? Or is there some other reason? It was something to give thought to…

As for caution, that had become as natural as breathing since he had come here. It was one of the main reasons he was still alive. In a way, caution was the reason he was taking the trip today. Who could say when it would be prudent to be handy with a weapon? He tried to take every eventuality he had knowledge of into account, and so being here just made sense. Sooner or later, he would need to know how to use a sword.

Of course, image counted for a lot, and as such he carefully crafted his appearance. Unconsciously, he shifted the travel pack slung over his left shoulder. That was why it was over his left shoulder. It kept his sword arm free. At least he looked like he knew what he was doing. Now began the time to actually learn to do it for real.

M'bela waited while the Mae'shadar wove the gateway, herself unable to see it though knowing even had she been male the weave was inverted. It was reduced to the council to know this and a few other weaves. A privelege she didnt own, though she hoped one day to come up on that level.

Then she was the first to step through out into the countryside as the gateway was opened. She waited and crossed on her list as each student came through and then lead the way towards the ranch who should lay around the bend. She didnt look back to see the gateway disapear.

ooc enjoy
