I have a guess.  I think this is a different Mantis from Day 2.  And Day 2 Mantis was a different Mantis from Day 1.  The real Mantis has been retired 3 Days and living like a king in Patagonia.

 

 

Okay, can you help clear up something from yesterday then about your conversation with Mantis, so you are saying you lied to him and your item wasn't stolen? What about the rest of the conversation he was talking about in the quote below:

No Dr. Coffin doesn't make any good points about Jaguaro at all.  Jaguaro is mod confirmed Town.  His play is also as Town as Town can be.

 

Creepy Heap acting like Coffin makes good points is scummy.

 

I had a conversation with Jaguaro.  He knows who stole his role.  He told me what role was stolen.  So if either of us are NKed, the other will still be able to verify the third person if they choose to use Jag's former ability and if it nets us scum.  Jags had a conversation with mod and had it confirmed that an ability may exist where someone can take over another person's account.  Keep that in mind as you PM each other.  I'm deleting all my conversations and keeping copies of those messages in a notepad.txt file.

I know who I am. And I know what Mantis said:

 

Jags is NOT scum.  I'm being less than truthful with my cop view but there is zero doubt that Jags is Town and not scum or even 3rd party.  Of this fact I am 100% certain.  100%.  There is NO wiggle room on this fact.

Mantis didn't say he lied. He said he was being less than truthfull. As in he wasn't being completely forthcoming with the rest of the information. The rest of the information we have is a mod PM that says exactly what is now public information. Mantis wasn't allowed to post that information himself but now you see it.

 

Is all this talking about yourself in the third person trying to insinuate that you are someone else who has taken over the Mantis alt?

N1 I stole a 1x cop view from Jaguaro.  I sent him a PM D2 admitting it because I wanted to open up a line of communication with someone I thought I could reasonably trust. 

 

First thing he told me is that I should be careful what I send in PM's because he was told that someone can take over another person's account - when I asked to clarify if he got that from DPR, he said he did.  Mantis also put this information out on the thread for everyone to see, although I think very few people paid much attention to it. 

 

He told me he would ask Mantis to add me to their "neighborhood", so I now have a PM thread with both of them which incidentally had no messages prior to Mantis agreeing to invite me in.

 

Jaguaro asked me to view Ghost and said he would claim his power hadn't been stolen after all.  I'd already submitted a view on someone else but since that person was subsequently revealed to have been viewed already, I asked DPR if I could change my view.  I viewed Ghost last night and was given a town result.

 

I also asked DPR a very pertinent question last night - I asked him very specifically if there is any mechanic in this game that would allow someone to take over another player's alt, with the obvious exception of players who need to be replaced.  He very specifically told me no, that there is no way for a player to take over another person's alt except for the case of replacements.

 

Jaguaro and Mantis are both lying about this.

 

I originally figured if I stole a 1x cop role from Jaguaro, he must be town, but since then that assumption has been challenged.  Mummy, who said he used a triangle role N1, was mafia, and this post from DPR:

 

 

 

So what does "100% accurate" mean on cop views? All roles such as framer, bus driver, etc are out as well?

 

 

I don't bastard mod, so it means 100% accurate. No Framers or Bus Drivers - those are so passe'... Magistrates, Mirrors and Triangles are teh hype shite.

That tells me that chances are actually pretty decent that the mafia team does have cop views and other useful town abilities for us to steal. And that, plus the fact that Jaguaro and Mantis have both lied about the ability to take over another person's alt, leads me to this:

I realize this is a little confusing.  Mantis is a confusing concept.  The only thing that matters is that I know with certainty that he is Town and Mantis knows with certainty that I am Town.

 

I'm going to give you two scenarios for what's going on.  One is true.  The other is a deception.  Neither of these scenarios affects the information being shared.

 

1.  Mantis came up with the idea to claim that my Cop role had been stolen once we realized that there were other thieves.  This was before we knew that if I used the role it couldn't be stolen from me.  At that point, there was really no reason to go back and clear that up.  So I used my cop ability last night and claimed my result.

 

2.  Then again, this could all be a lie to cover for the person who actually stole from me.  In that case, Mantis would also know who stole from me.  I would only know who stole from me if the person who stole from me PMed me to tell me they stole from me.  In this case, that person would have also PMed me the cop result and I would have shared that cop result with the Town.

Mummy had a cop/tracker/watcher with 33% chance.
Miner stole Elia´s magistrate.
Tar Monster hasn´t stolen anything and no one has stolen from him.
Mantis had a 1 x cop - viewed Jaguaro = town

The amount of cop views in this game are ridiculous. I can work out what a Mirror does.. but incase I happen to be retarded.. can someone clarify exactly what it does?

Is true.  We created a new thread to invite Creeper to.  I had a good feeling Creeper was Town because I didn't think Scum would tell me they stole a role from me.  Plus, I don't think the Scooby Gang can steal.  But that's just a guess.  Mantis was less sure.  So we created a new thread to be safe.

4. Is true.  I was very upfront about the fact I was going to lie in thread to protect his identity.  I also told him I would come clean if he found himself in trouble and needed the support.

5. Is NOT true.  This is different from what DPR told me.  See point 2.

6. Is a good assumption.  I don't think the Scooby Gang would start with cop roles.  Nor do I think they can steal.

 

The rest of you post doesn't make much sense, actually.  But those are the full details of our dealings with Creeper.

We don't know the exact questions asked, it's quite possible that both of them is telling the truth.
