Tar monster is doing the same sort of traffic direction, he's almost massaging people in certain directions. I pointed out him goading someone onto a train on D1, here I've called him out as scum and he's OMGUS voted me, then decided to try to take the high-road to avoid the entanglement of defending himself - which he is awful at doing.

Now, after waiting a day, he see's the Mummy train as an opportunity to put my vote on him further out of focus - so he plops his vote on Mummy, in a clear "create new momentum" play, given that he said "maybe if we vote him, he'll talk".

2 scum for you.

Now lynch them. Both.

WOW.  GET AWAY FROM ME DUDE I DON'T LIKE YOU LIKE THAT.

Posted

I made one vote on Dr. Coffin calling him jealous scum and now he's been pelting me with turds nonstop the whole day.  Dude wants my amorphous body.  Can't have it.

Posted

vote Dr. Coffin

As much as I like this idea, we need to vote Mummy.  We've got 3 scummy ass players pushing a BS countertrain on Ghost based on nothing when Mummy has done nothing but get caught visiting too many people and talk about clown fashion.

And why don't you drop it and move on?  You yourself said we needed to move on, but for some reason you keep coming back to the point even after I moved on.  Seriously, you make absolutely no sense when you can't even bother to be logically consistent.

No YOU move on first.

I wonder if Mummy will wake up today. There are 20 hours left (I think???)and I don't think that is enough time to switch to a new lynch if Mummy has a believable clam.

I wouldn't be happy blind lynching some crazy DPR town role. How many mafia are there? We don't know what balances.  And there is always day 3, lovelies.

Regardless of whether MUMMY wakes up or not, we have less than half the players voting 20h before the deadline. This is totally unacceptable.

As I said before, we need to be able to lynch people in less than 36h, or we may forget about victory chances. That means people need to vote and participate. There is absolutely nothing that would excuse not placing a vote in the first 12-24h of a day.

Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Gaming the mod's meta to support a "let's go lynch crazy" agenda is pinging big time. There may be something to what you are advocating, but it needs to be tempered with more of an understanding of the setup. So far, we've seen a bunch of derps make believe they know what they are doing on D1, and basically only pressure 1 - 2 people in a game with what 20+ people in it?

Now you want to get lynch crazy and just start cranking them out, without actually putting in the scum hunting work?

Riiiiight. Good plan. I stand over here and watch... then when it's time for someone to fix your mess, I'll take care of it. LOL

FOS COFFIN

So - the biggest weapon town has is lynching. We need to use that weapon as well as possible and as often as possible.

Right now we're doing neither. It's anti-town to suggest that we shouldn't try and take advantage of our weapons. If you can lynch twice a day, you should lynch twice a day.

You're right that there isn't enough pressuring. It's the end of D2 and we had two trains total and even those two were messed up because they arrived too late. That's about 1/4th of what we should have had by now.

On a first read?

What stands out to me the most is that MUMMY isn't talking on D2.

This is a good point. Mummy isn't talking. At all. Are you pushing this angle because you know he has been silenced by one of your scum buddies?

Vote Wax Phantom

I would like to know the tracking information on mummy if he doesn't respond by the end of the day tomorrow [real time not mafia time].

Interesting point - so you claim this is how it went down?

- maffia silences MUMMY

- The Black Knight says he tracked MUMMY (he can't defend)

- PHANTOM claims to have had a 1xCop view on The Black Knight just in case he is not believed

Isn't that a bit too much investment for trying to lynch someone on D2?

Posted

Oh and now there's like 10 hours.

We're doomed

I think the alt accounts are scaring people away but I will continue to be wary of super speedy lynches. There is a lot that can go wrong. I think we will be lucky to gather enough for a lynch today though. But the Magi might be a bit of a false lead - I think it is too early to tell to start lynching people blind because you just don't know what you are lynching.

Werewolf how do you feel about Mummy? Have you ever heard of a role that would have multiple returns like that?

Posted

10000: I did a count on DM maffia games and I got incredible results:

Friends Maffia (Thakandar)

Harry Potter Maffia (White tower)

House of Undead Maffia (Black Tower)

WOE and Dramatis maffia (here, that's actually 3 games, 2/3 concluded)

Pizza toppings maffia (just finished)

That's half a dozen games going on (depends how we count).

----------------------------

About MUMMY: I don't even know a single role that would mean someone targetting multiple people (bus driver should target two, but I think here we have more than two targets). So not a clue about MUMMY, tbh.

Posted

Super Speedy lynches are wrong and that's exactly what happens when half the people don't even vote. Normally there should be 1-2 decent sized trains formed by 12-24h, pressure made, reveals gained if needed and about 12-24h more to decide the right lynch.

Yes, that means people should participate & not be afraid to place votes (with reasoning attached!).

Posted

So it boils down to blind Vs our Best option...... Which is Ghost with 3 votes as the next highest train.

There are too many unknowns with the Mummy situation. The Cop bungled it for a start and look at all the people involved talking about it I can't say I trust all of them. And finally, staying silenced as a gambit is surely daft with everyone so up in arms about activity these days. What I mean by that is that I would think a claim would come out rather than play the silenced card, and someone would be sure to mention "Silenced" pretty quick after daybreak to plant the seed. The risk of getting lynched quick smart by not talking would outweigh any claim play I believe.

Posted

Ghost - You said you can't think of any town roles with multiple targets but you can mafia - what are those roles? Or is it just something said out of hand to paint mummy mafia and push the blind lynch?

MR HYDE, what's your case on CAT CREATURE?

Not much of a case, just watching right now. Kitty Kat voted for Black Knight after Phantom revealed his cop viewing and never mentioned it in her post. Seemed like she glossed over it.

Posted

Well, in retrospect: PHANTOM's idea wasn't bad - maybe we should have lynched him asap (to clear TBK), use the magistrate to vet MINER + Elias and go for another lynch.

Or would that have been bad cost-wise? (not that it'd have been possible, I think we still don't have 14 voters total!).

Well, me too of course. I was trying to go for sarcasm, and failed completly. Oh woe!

Since Mummy seems awol, and we have 20 hours to deadline, and I'm very interested in hearing what he'll say, I suggest we leave the mummy until next Day, and get rid of Ghostie now.

Unvote vote Ghost

Apparently sarcasm is lost on people around here.

Chalking it up as sarcasm, doesn't make it sarcasm.

You were dead serious and I knocked you on your ass, because your defense was stupid.

Unvote

Vote Ghost

I was serious about the stupidity so I used sarcasm to show it.  And I'm not sure what world you live in but you certainly didn't "knock me" anywhere.  I stand by my points, and you agreed with them and still somehow claim victory, which is just strange.  You even said, "but nobody was saying that they were town" showing that you agreed.  Then, when I pointed out people were assuming BK is completely town you don't respond to that point, glide right past it, and say "ZOMG I totally won that, YEAH!"

Why don't you actually respond to my point before claiming victory, asshat.

And why don't you drop it and move on?  You yourself said we needed to move on, but for some reason you keep coming back to the point even after I moved on.  Seriously, you make absolutely no sense when you can't even bother to be logically consistent.

Yeah, right.

Blatant backpedalling going on here.

Don't act like I didn't "respond to your point" when you weren't making one, you were spinning my statements about assuming they are town given their claims, into an opportunistic accusation. You were implying I knew they were town, and only scum knows who town is. This is the type of manipulation that comes from the scum point of view, I've employed the tactic plenty of times.

Reality: what I said was the most logical, pro-town approach to take with Black Knight.

You were insisting we crater on them, with a deadline looming. You were, and are, wasting time in a game where getting the votes we need towards a lynch is tough. That is a scum agenda.

Posted

vote Dr. Coffin

To the points you raised, and not understanding, I'll clarify simply: I believe Ghost was saying "let's move on" to insulate his agenda with a pro-town disclaimer, because he followed that statement but then followed it by pushing hard at continued focus on Black Knight, et al.

In other words, his post had conflicting agendas in it - I only believe he meant the part of it that pushed a scum agenda.

Scum, while pushing their agenda, often insulate or try to disguise what they say with "townie" sounding blanket statements.

I made one vote on Dr. Coffin calling him jealous scum and now he's been pelting me with turds nonstop the whole day.  Dude wants my amorphous body.  Can't have it.

This is a lie. All of it.

I voted you first, calling you out on goading people to vote a townie on D1. You vote me back and then hid, I am not even voting you now just keeping you in my top 3 because I know how you defend as scum and this is it, but your boy Ghost is my top suspect.

Typically, a town JIF would be all over what I'm seeing from Ghost - yet you are more focused on reversing momentum to take me out, because I'm likely a threat to you. Got it. You stay in my top 3.

Surprise, surprise... the other of my top 3 pushing momentum my way.

Awesome.

I feel like I may have as many as 2/3 of my list correct. If I need to be lynched for the rest of you herp-a-derps to be able to re-read and see these 3 all shifting momentum at me, then go for it... just don't forget to read back through it and then kill them.

Also, to the bold - you are spinning. I never suggested we don't use them, I suggested we learn more about the game dynamic, then use them, rather than using them irresponsibly and without caution. Yes, this was a terribly anti-town statement.
