TV show of the month: Dresden Files (premieres 1-21-07)

The cginess of the wolf was a little bit annoying, but they did a good job of keeping the wolf out of most images, having it do stuff off camera. The end was a little bit of a let down, I felt like the two FBI agents talked about their relationship a lot, but I didn't really believe in it... A flashback might have helped.

 

I think the characters of Dresden and Bob are improving though, I liked how they showed that Bob couldn't go far from his skull.

Agreed. I also think that Michael will be a good addition to the show. Right now it feels a little early Angel when you only have two or three main characters. You generally need a cast of characters to play off of.

I'm really wondering if I should check this out. My roommate seems to like it, but I'm slightly less forgiving of canon changes. :/

Well, you have to forget most of what you have read and think of the show as a new entity I think. I have a friend that I introduced to the books that loves them, but detests the show.

I think it is still growing in to itself. With a little more time and a little more money it has potential.

For some reason, I could not get Constantine out of my head while watching this episode. Again, the best episode to date. Plus Bob got a little randy which tracks better with the books.

I'm glad I've never read the books now.. Nothing to be disappointed about for me. It seems like a good show with some good characters so far. I plan to keep watching.

Wow. It's almost over already... Last nights trailer said next week is the season finale. I've really grown to love this series. I hope it comes back for sevreral more seasons...

I just read the new book in the series and remember how much more I love the books over the TV series... but I am intrigued to watch the last few I have DVRed.

If reading the books makes people not care for the series, all I can say is I am really glad I have never read any of the books, cause watching the series without prejudice, I love the series.

Looks like the series may be in trouble, as Sci-Fi hasn't decided whether or not to renew the show...

I was reading the Wiki site and found out some interesting trivia. Apparently the pilot episode was originally supposed to be the third episode, which makes sense considering that it seemed odd as a first episode. The original first two episodes would have been adapted from what was originally supposed to be a TV movie pilot. Those episodes were later whittled down to a one hour episode and aired as episode 8, Storm Front (the one where the grieving father was using black magic to call the demon to kill people to avenge his daughter...)

 

I hope it gets renewed...

Yeah I lost interest after Storm Front. I still have the last part of the season on my DVR and keep forgetting to watch them.

 

I hope it gets renewed though as it could be a great show.

The next episode, "The Other Dick" is ok, but the last 3 eps of the season are all excellent. Especially "What about Bob?" Possibly the best ep of the season...

 

-edit : The word filter is seriously annoying. Is this a website for adults or pre-schoolers? Filter out the big words, sure, but surely words that you can hear on the TV should be ok?
