OOC: just a reference point - Ceremony Details

IC:

The sun peeked through the blinds as Coraman tightened her sheath, her hilts of her dual blades glistening with the previous night's cleaning. Her stomach was tied up in knots on this day, the one day that defined the blood, sweat, and tears that she sacrificed to become a Tower Guard. Finally. She knew that going forward, she would never be the same.

It was almost time. She stepped out of the barracks, her gaze sweeping across the action of the training occurring before her. A wistful thought appeared, If only she was here to see this. The thought nearly broke the dam of tears that threatened; her foster mother had disappeared and was never heard from again. A legendary ex-Gaidin whose name was still whispered amongst those in the Yards.

A glance towards the sun revealed that time was near. The knot in her stomach wouldn't go away and when she remembered the fact that an Aes Sedai would be present at her Ceremony, She wanted to throw up. Thankfully, her stomach was empty with a lack of breakfast. She scolded herself, She's not going to do anything, she'll just be there to witness, Coraman. That didn't help. Her stomach was rolling and her face was pale by the time she entered the Glade.

The Aes Sedai, Tower Guard, and Master at Arms was already present. Coraman took a deep breath and willed her stomach to shut the bloody hell up.

Grisham stood to the right of the Commander as Coraman approached. He noticed her pale face and gave her a reassuring look remembering how nervous he had been during his ceremony.  In one respect it seemed like ages ago yet he could recall it like it was yesterday.  His thoughts drifted for the moment before returning to the present.  Coraman was turning another page at the White Tower and about to begin a new chapter in her life.  Hopefully she serve the White Tower well.  He had no reason to believe she would do otherwise else he would not have offereed to stand for her.

Grisham stood at attention waiting for the ceremony to begin.  His boots had been blackened and polished this morning while his clothes were brushed and pressed so that not even a single wrinkle was present.  He was a stump of a man with wide shoulders and a midsection to match.  Grisham's swordbelt and sheath was neatly polished and his sword's hilt and pommel glistened.  Taking part in this ceremony was an honor and no small affair.  It was something he did not take lightly.

Kilrin enjoyed these brief silences in the Glade of Remembrance - away from the paperwork, the petitions, and the daily grind that came with the territory of being the Master at Arms. On this day, a trainee was about to be sworn in as a Tower Guard, altering her life forever. She didn't remember her own ceremony, it was too many years ago but the significance of this event for every trainee was momentous.

Grisham stood to one side as Leala Sedai stood on the other. A gentle breeze floated through the small glade as Coraman stepped into the glade, her face pale. The girl approached them hesitantly before kneeling in front of the stone slab, the light shining on the polished hilts of her dual blades. Kilrin glanced at Grisham and Leala Sedai, getting their confirmations that they were ready to proceed with the ceremony of Coraman Kera's promotion.

Leala appreciated how peaceful it was in the Warders Yard.  She wore a fine white Andoran dress with the high neckline that nobles wore.  She wore her white shawl as well, seeing as this was an official and formal ceremony.  She found her way to the Glade of Remembrance, taking her place while everyone was getting settled.  She nodded and gave the members of the Tower Guard cordial smiles.  Leala watched as Coraman kneeled in her place.  It seemed everyone was set.  She looked at Kilrin, the Master at Arms and nodded her readiness for the ceremony to begin.

ooc: alright, this ceremony really is a creativity-bottle-stopper. My apologies for the delay! I'm going to blend Cora and Kilrin's posts in one and since it seems Sieve is MIA, I'll NPC him.

Coraman stepped up right before the stone slab and knelt on her knees, looking up at Mistress Kilrin. The older woman's face was hard but her eyes had this tenderness that reminded her so much of her foster mother. "I come here unarmed, offering to give myself to the defence of those who serve all."

The Master at Arms narrowed her eyes, as if contemplating Cora's words. "Who would speak for you?" Sieve took a step and tucked his thumbs into his belt and with his deep voice, replied, "I would speak for her, she is fit." Kilrin glanced at Sieve, staring into his eyes as if she could read his thoughts. Finally, she nodded and turned back to look at Coraman.

Kilrin spoke again, "Who would trust you?" Coraman's stomach rolled, she knew the Ceremony and the words spoken. This was for the Aes Sedai to answer and she tightened her hands into a fist, praying for the Creator's Light to bless her.
