Ok inspired by the thread Sunrunner or Channeler where magick systems are compared I wanted to make a thread asking which mage is the most S**** out of luck male Channelers in Wheel of Time before Rand's little clean up operation or l'Cie from Final Fantasy 13?

We all know how male Channelers work, they have access to a powerful, versatile magick system, only age at a faction of the speed normal people do, not that it will do them much good, and within five seconds to ten yeas they will be insane and spread some magickal doom and glooms, or should we say doom and booms for a while and then die of a illness which is similar to rotting away while still alive. They also have Aes Sedai after them who if they catch them will put them through something worse then death, so they do not have it to easy.

Now l'Cie in Final Fantasy 13 do not have it much easier, they are chosen as slaves by machine Gods and are given magickal powers. l'Cie magick is not as powerful as WoT Channeling but it do pack a punch and come without the dangers of the WoT system, l'Cie can also summon powerful spirits to aid them. So far so good now we get to the downside. l'Cie are branded by the machine Gods and slowly that brand develops, once it is done the l'Cie have to either have completed a task set for them by the machine Gods, and they do not know anything about this task save one brief vision and have to guess, if they do not complete this task by the time their brand is complete they turn into zombie like monsters that attack everything in sight, and if they survive raving around like that for long enough they turn to fully conscious stones who are consumed by regret over their failed task but who are unable to do anything about it. Now if the l'Cie do manage to complete their task they are turned into crystal usually forever though the machine Gods can change them back and give them a new task which just starts the whole process again making the choices zombie monster, or eternal slave. Life expectancy before either outcome is not mentioned but somewhere between a few months and a few years. Oh yes they also have the army after them with orders to shoot on sight.

So which type of mage have the shortest straw here? Just to waste some time on pointless geek speculations. :P
