I'm only stuck on the meta-gaming (let's just agree to disagree on this one) because you were handed a difficult position. The player before you came in was inactive, so there is nothing to work with except what you've done. I can understand where you are coming from; if this was a non-alt game, I would be pushing for your lynch because the mod chose to replace a completely silent player after four or five game days instead of modkilling them. That is not a good enough reason for me in an alt game, though.

 

Basically, you're pinging because you, in my mind, mishandled the transition.

 

To be honest, I wish I would have found something on Lanfear that bothered me. I agree that my case against Belal is not the strongest, but it's all I have right now. It's also why I'm hoping that there will be more conversation; I want people to pick apart my arguments and present better ones.

I honestly can't make much more of a case on Be'lal than what has been said. The outrage over Graendal seemed over the top to me. The meta reference to link himself to his townie former life to justify his votes.

 

I've been pro town this whole game. Go back and read my posts and you will see me scum hunting and finding them. I haven't been as active lately and I apologize for it, but I'm willing to put my vote down on this point. I believe Be'lal to be scum. If Balthamel is scum, then well played.

Well, the way I see it, this is actually mylo, not lylo. The proper play would be to no lynch today, let the mafia nightkill somebody else, and have a reduced pool of suspects tomorrow. However, this is a deadline game. I'm cleared, obviously, since I'm the uncontested doc. That leaves Belal, Balthamel, and Lanfear to select from.

 

Belal seems to have carried on in precisely the same way as they were when they were Mesaana. Now, I pushed for a Mesaana lynch, but she/he turned out to be town. For this reason, I'm inclined to think that Belal is town.

 

I had an 'O ho!' moment when I went back and saw this post from Lanfear:

Belal lives! But new Belal seems off kilter to me.

 

I had just posted a case on Sammael, who turned out to be scum, which Lanfear was completly ignoring or attempting to derail by focusing on Belal. Well, hey. If you can lynch them once, why not try to lynch them again? Lanfear did eventually vote Sammael, but only at the very last minute, and after the hammer vote had been cast. And this post is just off:

When I first read it, I thought to myself, "so what?" Sure it's manipulative, but mafia's a game of manipulation, and you sign up for that when you sign up for the game. Now, I went back and checked out Lanfear's voting this game. On day one, she voted for SH and then Moridin. On day two, Graendal and then Ishy. On day three, Belal and then SH. Day four, Belal. It's now day seven. Lanfear has found Belal to be scummy for at least half of the game, as shown by her votes, and yet she cannot produce a reason other than the most recent Belal being overly angry with Graendal, and referring to having been in the game as Mesaana.

 

Balth's voting record isn't much better, being quite similar, except for the tunneling on Belal. I've got a town read on him after his recent play. If he's scum after all that, he deserves to win. Given his apparent inability to find Lanfear scummy, it's possible that he's a town symp. (If so, we might be a tad screwed... I'd have to produce fancy footwork as doc tonight for town to win.)

Oh Halima, no. Look back at any of my posts and you will see that I am not mafia. Don't ignore the beginning of the game. Be'lal isn't voting right now because he wants to swoop in with the final hammer vote. He's been pretty certain I'm scum but isn't voting me yet. He is prodding the lynch.

 

I don't have a more case to make because Be'lal only has about 30 posts. I don't believe you are scum and I don't believe Balthamel is either. It is apparent to me who is the last one.

Thats scum logic. Thats the logic that scum always use to guilt trip townies into voting for another townie or to get nervous, easily manipulated townies, to vote so they dont get pegged as scum. Well its to late for that. This is the last lynch. You cant get someone to vote for someone else by saying they are scum if they dont anymore because this is the last lynch of the game.

I implore you to go back and research this. Be'lal hasn't made a town move since he swapped in. I've actively sought and lynched Scum. I'm just frustrated by the fact that his OMGUS vote has been turned around to make him look like the reasonable one with a case.

I checked out Lanfear vs Moridin early on day one. Could have been distancing, of course, but I think Lanfear would have tried to make more town cred out of it than she has if it was. Also, the reaction to thinking she was to be hammered.

This post is also off. Since when was mishandling replacing as an alt scummy? In my opinion, it's fair enough to mention that you were a player previously in the game. Were this not an alt game, it wouldn't be an issue. Mishandling a transition ain't scummy; having screwy reasons for lynching town is.

 

I also don't get the 'I wish I could find Lanfear scummy' part. If he were town, he should have no trouble imagining anybody else as scum. Suggests to me that he's not.
