CBS' new series "Elementary" has found one way to get around comparisons to the BBC's "Sherlock" with its own new contemporary-set take on Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" books.

 

Former "Charlie's Angels" star Lucy Liu has been hired to play the secondary lead of "Dr. Joan Watson" in the New York City-set series which has already cast Jonny Lee Miller as Holmes reports TV Line. Sexual tension will no doubt be in the offering.

 

Robert Doherty penned this version in which Holmes, a former consultant to Scotland Yard with addiction problems. Now out of rehab, he lives in Brooklyn with Joan Watson, a disgraced former surgeon who now consults for the NYPD.

 

I don't know how I feel about Crash Zero being Holmes and I REALLY don't know how I feel about Liu being Watson.
