Robert Jordan's Headstone

Hi,

 

I just saw a picture of RJ's headstone and I was surprised to see that the Masonic square and compasses was not present. This is unusual as all of us will typically include it (I too am a Freemason). In fact I do not know a single brother who does not have it present on their headstone.

 

I was wondering, does anyone know why this is the case?

My father-in-law was a Mason as well but his headstone lacks the emblems as well. It could be because he lies in a special Masonic Garden. As such, the emblems might be considered duplicous.
