Moiraine related a story about Manetheren & Aemon & Eldrene, in the story it was said that Aemon & Eldrene, had a love that Death could not sunder.Maybe Mat isn't Aemon reborn but you'd agree Mat is a direct decedent of Aemon & Tuon would be Eldrene's direct decendant.
