Fox is reportedly close to ordering a supernatural procedural from Ryan Murphy, writer/director of “Eat Pray Love” and creator of “Popular,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Glee.”

It centers on a psychiatrist who helps people deal with their phobias.

Murphy would write and produce the resulting series with Howard Gordon (“The X-Files,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “24”).

Fox, the network behind “The X-Files,” currently has a supernatural procedural titled “Fringe” entering its third season next Thursday.

Fox is going forward with a pilot for “Alcatraz,” a drama tied to the prison island off the California coast from a trio of “Lost” vets – producers J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk and writer-producer Elizabeth Sarnoff.

It’s described as "a show about mysteries, secrets and the most infamous prison of all time: Alcatraz."

And that’s pretty much all we know about the premise.

Al Capone and Bumpy Johnson were two of the more famous gangsters to serve time there. The island ended its career as a working prison in 1963 and today is a tourist destination operated by the National Parks Service.

The island has played a memorable role in numerous movies, among them “The Birdman of Alcatraz,” “The Enforcer,” “Escape From Alcatraz,” “The Rock,” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

Abrams already has one series at Fox in "Fringe."
