For a nearly blind woman, she doesn't miss much, does she? -Telcia Dyfelle, former Red Sister

General Information

Full Name: Maegan Elmdor-Ryanne (Maegan Ryanne)

White Tower Rank: Red Sister

Age: (Veteran) 150+ Years (147)

Nationality: Cairhien, Minor Noble House

Recent History Summary:

Former Head of the Red Ajah, Maegan Ryanne is well noted for her work with Ter'Angreal and general Angreal knowledge. Often viewed as a Brown Sister in her dealings of the intellectual world, she is an unshakable ally in the Red Ajah. Despite her small size, she is far more imposing with her abilities in the One Power and gives a whole new meaning to the The Great Game. In private, Maegan is far more casual in her dealings and holds a special allowance for friendships and close acquaintances. Familiar in the Warders Yard as well, Maegan works hard to portray a solid example of what it means to be an Aes Sedai by living as the example and serving beyond what the Tower may demand of her.

In recent events, however, Maegan has become more of an active participator in the Tower dealings. One of 3 leaders in the Watchers RP, Maegan became the sole force in delivering a Ter'Angreal dated more than a few thousand years to the Black Towers M'hael, Brent Enios. This in turn placed a possible new direction for the Red Ajah, however it was lost along with her position as Highest when she disappeared without explanation only days after her return from the Black Tower. Her whereabouts are still highly speculated amongst the Sisters of the Red.

Maegan also took a very personal interest in Estel Liones in hopes of healing a lifetime of damage done to her character. Unfortunately, the Amyrlin Seat (among others) have also taken a personal interest and fears that Maegan will use the woman as just another experiment. In turn it has created an unforeseen rift between Maegan and those that should be considered her 'superiors' after she blackmailed the Amyrlin with personal history and stole away Estel Sedai to the Academy of the Rose after she re-entered the 3 Arches after the Return of the Aes Sedai from the Watchers Escapade.

She is unaware of the newest succession in the Hall of the White Tower, and is now only one of two known re-sworn Aes Sedai in the Tower - the second to be Estel Liones Sedai. Upon entering the Tower, both Maegan and Estel return to discover a new Tower, a new Hall and Maegan at a loss for her title and her friends. Determined to see the Tower become a universal front along with the Black Tower, the first order of business is to confirm that the newest Amyrlin is not a Black Ajah replacement for the former Amyrlin Seat.

Physical Description

Actress Semblance: Eliza Dukshu

Height: 5'3"

Posture: She doesn't have any major curves, but has slightly larger then average bust, her inner beauty and truthful and honest nature shines through. Those that have curves, and such would probably view her as fat, this is entirely untrue.

Hair: Dark Brown, slightly wavy to the small of her back. Usually tied back in a braid or in a bun that usually looks more like a rat's nest. However, when on official Aes Sedai business she puts in the effort to tame her rich curls, clipping them up and allowing them to cascade down her back in an almost sultry look. There is always a silver hairpin in her hair, either in the shape of a hummingbird or the Cairhien sun with the Flame of Tar Valon.

Eyes: Dark Brown eyes with gold and silver flakes. In most light considered Black, but is sometimes thought to be green, or even dark blue in really bright light.

Skin Tone: Fair.

Voice: Pleasant and well intoned. She can capture anyone with her voice through stories or debate. But she can not sing a note!

Weapon Score: 5 - She has trained under Master Aran. All gained without the use of her spectacles.

Talent: Create Ter'Angreal *(Talent Request in Progress)

Knowledge Weakness: She lacks a certain understanding to emotions that are connected to Love. Things like physical attraction she dismisses through chemical reactions or dismisses completely without thought. Although she can and does love, she gives it little thought beyond its existence. Unfortunately it often hinders her judgement of others and why some do the things they do outside a duty given them.

Physical Weakness: She is nearly Blind. However she compensates this with impressively good hearing. She wears a pair of thick, gold-wired spectacles.

Personality Weakness: She is a relentless believer that Change is the way of the future and that only those stupid enough to limit themselves are the ones that fail. She is truthful and blunt and refuses to fall to another's Game. Maegan also has a surprisingly Fatalistic sense of humor that tends to surface when her life is in danger. Possibly a defense mechanism to throw off her 'attackers', it also can show at the rare moments where logic dictates that she should not have.

The Academy

Five years after attaining the Shawl, Maegan returns to Cairhien and the Royal Library of Cairhien, where she grew up, after learning of the death of her father Boah Ryanne. Rummaging through his work, Maegan discovers the plans for The Academy, based off the ruins of Al'Cair'Rahienallen.

Commissioning the construction of an addition to the broken Towers of the actual Library, a series of shielded rooms for experimental purposes, classrooms, Halls of Construction, and Facility Suites that opened into a small well shielded (overhead illusion and sound shield) open field that allowed not only for smaller out door experiements but also a place where scholars and inventors could relax and enjoy the weather.

During this, she became very close acquaintances with the Tsofu Stedding Ogier and Rhozette, Reque Damodred, Aldrin Niges Weyn, Riuda al'Reres and many others.

Maegan became a pivotal factor in the upbringing of not only the School but also the Academy itself. Although a strong factor her ties to the Tower prevent her from acting as part of the Facilty. However she is well known within the Academy and is well versed with other scholars and has her own private place of study within the walls. When she is within the building she could often be found in the Testing or Construction rooms, or the Library itself. However she is extremely busy and is not approached unless her specific expertise is needed.
