And the Fun Begins...(Halvie, Gaiya & Faerzyne)

Lavinya balanced her tray as she made her way grudgingly through the tower, the twisting corridors making it difficult to see anyone coming her way. More than once, she had to juggle to prevent her tray from spilling it's contents onto the floor. She cursed under her breath, not for the first time, as she and Gaiya were forced to drop curtseys for passing Aes Sedai, who barely paid them any heed. You can be sure they would notice if they had refrained from offering the proper respect.

 

Gaiya walked at her side, balancing her tray just as precariously. Lavinya tried to avoid her gaze altogether, though she still took smug satisfaction in the purple bruises on her neck. Her own cheek still stung from Gaiya's fist, causing her face to twist into a scowl. Wool-headed twit of a girl. She fixed her with a cold stare before focusing on her footing.

 

The tiles in the hall soon changed to Green, signalling the Green Ajah quarters. Lavinya led Gaiya through the narrow halls, offering the appropriate curtesies to all they met, before she halted in front of Halvie Sedai's door. She muttered one last curse under her breath, checking which cup was Halvie's once more, and juggled her tray, grimacing as it pitched wildly, freeing one hand long enough to rap her knuckles on the door before catching the tray again, waiting to be beckoned in.

The day progressed slowly after Halvie and the two Novices had left her office. She had a novice clean the floor that the girls had dripped on, for which she received many a dark scowl. She didn’t particularly care. She wasn’t here to become friends with every single novice, after all. She was here to make sure that there was discipline. Among other things of course. The Novice did curtsy though, which saved her from a certain path towards punishment for being insolent. Faerzyne was not the most patient Mistress of Novices when it came to misbehaviour of that kind. She demanded respect, after all. Without respect, all that was left was a hard hand, and a hard hand became inefficient when used too often.

 

After a few hours she rose from her seat, and left the office behind. If people needed her now, they would come to her chambers. She had her door warded, so no matter where she was at the time she would always know when she was needed. Fortunately there were only a few who dared disturb her at night. She changed into a different dress swiftly, enjoying the feel of the heavy velvet on her skin. Lovely as it was, it wasn’t very practical for every day use. She had saved the dark blue dress for occasions like these. The neckline was just right, revealing the fact that she was a woman, but high enough to keep from being too tempting. The skirts of the dress billowed around her legs as she walked towards Halvie’s chambers, the bells in her hair tingling merrily.

 

She knocked on Halvie’s door, softly, as if her arrival there was meant to be secret. In a way it was. It didn’t happen all that often that Faerzyne herself visited someone who had the potential of darkness so deep inside of her. Those meetings were reserved for the ones who held less valuable positions. Faerzyne’s task was merely to observe. Still, this was a good opportunity to see how Halvie would react to Faerzyne’s… prodding. She would have to wait a bit though. It was best to do her work with the two rebellious novices present. Halvie seemed to react strongly to at least one of them. Faerzyne smiled, gently almost. It would be an amusing evening.

Gaiya balanced the overly full tray on her hands. Tensing whenever an Aes Sedai walked past. Praying that it wouldn't all topple in the curtsy. The Aes Sedai didn't even notice the two burdened Novices, but they would have if the proper respect was not shown. Arrogant Aes Sedai. Bah! Of course Lavinya had the wine and the starter to carry. Lazy chit!

 

Soon the halls of the Tower emerged into a flood of green, it would be where the two of them spent most of their time. The Green Ajah Quarters. Lavinya knocked on the door; she gave Gaiya that at least. It was then that Gaiya thought she noticed something, Lavinya was up to something.

 

The two girls moved into the room, deep inside the Green Ajah quarters of the Tower. They were greeted by two women they would be serving and of course the mistress of Novices herself, Faezyne.
