Hypocrites and Hardcover Collections

Firstly, I'd like to say what a hypocrite a particular moderator is on this board for deleting one of my posts. The post specifically was an offering from one fan of Robert Jordan to the rest of you for a unique opportunity to purchase books from my collection of rare hardcover books from THE WHEEL OF TIME. One of which was signed in person by Robert Jordan himself.

 

I was told that this was "SPAM" and that I was not allowed to sell items, yet here I sit typing this email and see the "Dragonmount Book Store" on the left hand side of my screen for AMAZON. They don't even have these unique hardcovers in 1st edition / 1st print.

 

Now, I belong to alot of forums, hunting, fishing, motorcyles, and other hobbies and interests that I keep. On those forums, we've always been allowed to advertise items we may have for sale that are directly related to the site (ie; camo, calls, lures, motorcycle parts, etc). I ask you what is so different here? By deleted this message, the moderators have done many of you wrong by not allowing the opportunity to own these books.

 

Now, I'd completely understand if I was selling something other than WoT books, but I'm not selling anything but related items... they are ALL Wheel of Time Hardcover books.

Folks, since Wanderer decided to call me out publicly, I'm going to post a short response, lock the thread, and leave it up for viewing.  I'm happy to hear from anyone who has an opinion on this - just shoot me a PM or an e-mail if you'd like to discuss in more detail.

 

DM does not allow Spam on its forums.  We delete plenty of posts by spambots offering . . . things . . . for sale, and the fact that this particular sales pitch was apparently posted by living breathing human doesn't change that - especially considering the Wanderer has now made exactly three posts on this site, all of them advertisements for his eBay auction. Yes, he's selling Robert Jordan books; no, we don't want these boards becoming a clearing house for anyone with anything WoT related to sell.  I think everyone here knows how to use the internet, so if anyone wants to find WoT related items to purchase, I'm confident you know where to look for it - including on eBay.

 

Wanderer has also earned himself a 3 day ban for reposting a deleted thread and reposting spam.  That should take us past his auction, so hopefully this won't be repeated.  As I said in my initial PM to Wanderer, we're happy to have you as a member, if you're interested in becoming a part of the community, which is why the ban is temporary.  Here's hoping you are.  If not . . . well, good luck to you anyway.
