FREELANDER ANTHEM

Most of you don't know me, some of you have forgotten me, but all of you know OF me...long ago I banded a few of us commoners, wonderers, and simple folk that just didn't belong in any of the organizations and created the FREELANDERS.

 

I just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. It's quite incredible that DragonMount.com has been up for 10 years. I was 18 at the time. I spent countless hours posting, blogging, role playing, creating, and reading on this website and it's old chat rooms. At 28 I find myself already wanting to return to my youth. I have made many, many great friends through this website that I actually never got to meet in person, but great friends nonetheless. Most I have forgotten myself, and while I do not recall their names or online screen names I do remember the great times we spent chatting and writing on a common interest.

 

My favorite character of the Wheel of Time series is of course Thomdril Merrilin a.k.a. "The Grayfox". I always admired this character. He had no special powers or couldn't handle a sword, but he was formidable nonethelss. When we began to create the different organizations such as the Wolfbrothers, the White Tower and such, I found myself with others without a home here at Dragonmount. I proposed to Jason the idea of, let's get all these rag-tag groups of people and make a home for those of us that love the real important characters in stories and in life...the commoners. He liked the idea and so left me in charge to gather all of us and create our own little group...thus the Freelanders was created.

 

Nine years later I return to still see it thriving with new members and old. I'm glad that you have found an online home community and hope that it gives you the countless hours of enjoyable memories and fun times that it gave me.

 

I might stop by from time to time because I like to remember...but life keeps me pretty busy these days so if I don't I leave you with this, the old FREELANDERS ANTHEM.

Let the Dragon have his power

*smiles*  Did you, really now?  I joined the site in 2000, and I only remember Persephone :/

 

However, it's always grand to see a returnee.  Especially since this poor old div could use a bit of loving right now; I'm short on time and haven't gotten around to thinking up any fun RPs, and I think that this div has become almost an afterthought for a lot of people.  I'm plotting to see it restored to former glory... oh yes, plotsy plotting.  *nods*

Well, if you're plotting count me in. Thanks to the 'three per Div' rule being ruthlessly exploitable here (;D), i have quite a few FL chars: One Kin, two Aiel, two Seanchan and a 'standard' FL Pirate.
