Colours and Faces

So Rand has just started to see the whirling colours and a blurry image when talking about Mat. I presume this turns into his ability to 'see' Mat when mentioning him. So far he's not mentioned Perrin but I assume it's the same.

 

The first time I remember reading this is when Rand and Min, with Rand in disguise, go to the Palace in Caemlyn with the intention of seeing Nynaeve and Mat, but it all ends up with Rand in bed with Elayne. It happens a fair few times because Nynaeve lies and tells Rand that Mat is with Egwene, leading her army for her, so that Rand will go to Egwene, thinking he will find Mat (Women are so sneaky).

 

I know it's not quite the same and he doesn’t feel nauseous, just sees colours and a blurry image, but doesn’t this seem very like his ability to see Moridin? I know the Moridin thing is when he seizes the Source, and the Mat thing is when he discusses him but is it anyway the same sort of thing, or just another 'coincidence' that when he needs Mat most, he has the ability to see him?

The thing with Rand, Mat and Perrin happens when they think of each other, they can see swirling colors and eventually see what the others are doing when he thinks about them. This I believe is the Ta'veren link between the three becoming stronger.

 

The thing with Moridin doesnt always happen when Rand channels, sometimes it happens when he doesnt-I think Moridin must be channelling when that happens but Im not sure. Wha makes me curious is when Rand sees Moridins face he thinks "if either move a hairswidth they will touch," it is this that made me think of the bodyswap theory
