What are some of your favorite movies that came from a book?

 

For me Shawshank Redemption would be right up there. Then maybe Godfather. I refused to put LOTR in my list.

I'll go with The Music Man. ... I think it was a book... or at least it was a broadway show first... so that's like an adaptation at least.

And more recently, a film I saw just this week called Night Watch. Its the first of a trilogy based upon some horror fantasy by a russian author, set in Moscow. It was really very good. Check it out.

personally I liked hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It was made for kids but if you want and interestingly different movie check it out.

I thought the movie for Hitchikers wasnt that good.

 

I did enjoy Night Watch, however something about it was off... looking forward to Day Watch though!

You know, I think Day Watch is already out. I know its been shown in Russia, but now Sony is in on the deal I doubt we can get it in the West yet.
