Karigan walked the street listening to the roar and rush of the big city. Being a small town girl Karigan looked around with wide eye's catching all the glint and glimmer of city life, the people from nations far and wide. Karigan had merely read of the places they were from, there she saw merchants from Tarabon, Tear and Arad Doman to name a few. So many people from so far, in such a small place, Karigan mused, it's a wonder that Caemlyn is not as wild as some stories i've heard about other cities such as Ebou Dar or Lugard. Karigan winced thinking of other stories of people killed on a whim. Her thoughts occupied, Karigan failed to notice a woman watching her untill she spoke.

"Hello, Child."

Karigan jumped and whirled.

"Oh, my lady. I did't see you."

Christine was riding upon her horse, looking around her at the world she saw. It had been ages since she had been away from Tar Valon, and here she was, almost a century later, in what she now thought to be the most beautiful city across the land. She had heard of the beauty of Caemlyn, but the great work of the Ogiers was very obvious in all she saw. It was magnificent.

She had felt strangely as she sat at that tavern, having a light drink. She had a few meetings she had planned for the next day, all in the service of Sirayn, but for that day, she was free to do as she pleased. And so, she was sitting outside, having a nice glass of wine before venturing to the palace, where she would make her presence known. She had long wanted to meet the Queen, or at least those that advised her. She didnt even know who the latest Aes Sedai advisor was... it was something Christine didnt find all too important- Sirayn would beat her for not knowing it.

She watched people pass. Merchants, peddlers, soldiers, and children. But she felt something pass by her. The power. And Christine didnt see an Aes Sedai. The power was moving from her, and she rose from her chair, following the feeling. She couldnt feel the channeling, but it was more as though a feeling of someone that could, or at least, if they attempted to, could.

She left a copper on the table for the dull wine, and followed the feeling. The girl in front of her. She was about Christine's height, and she seemed to be in her own world. Making certain her Aes Sedai ring was visible, she leaned against a building, callout to the girl. "Hello, Child." The girl jumped and turned around to face her.

"Oh, my lady. I did't see you." Christine moved forward to the girl, and took a look at her, before walking around her, looking at the victim. Christine was willing to bet her beltpurse that the girl could channel. Smiling at her, she returned before the girl. "Child, I am more than certain you know of Tar Valon and the White Tower. I am Christine Sedai of the Green Ajah... have you ever thought about Tar Valon for yourself?"

"Child, I am more than certain you know of Tar Valon and the White Tower. I am Christine Sedai of the Green Ajah... have you ever thought about Tar Valon for yourself?"

Karigan blinked in startlement. "Tar Valon?" Kargian said in shock, "Ah, no never. Don't they only take noblewomen or someting like that?" The woman, no, Aes Sedai was certaintly regal enough for it, Karigan thought to her self.

The girl looked at her in shock, and stumbled out a reply. "Tar Valon?" Christine nodded her head. No, she, an Aes Sedai, was going to Tear- of COURSE Tar Valon! Where else? "Ah, no never. Don't they only take noblewomen or someting like that?" Only noble women? Where was this child from, that she was roaming around Caemlyn and didnt even know that Aes Sedai ranged from the poorest fisherwoman to the queen of Andor.

"No, girl, Tar Valon is for all, and I think you should come with me now!" Christine grabbed the girl's shirt, and pulled her along. They went through a crowd, and eventually, Christine found a small weapons shop, the green symbol over top. She entered in, knowing a Green Spy had to certainly own this shop. Entering, there was in fact a woman there, and after flashing her ring, was immediately taken to a back room, where tea was served.

After thanking her hospitable, mutual friend, she turned back to the young girl. Sitting before her, sipping tea lightly, Christine asked her of herself. Her name, where she was from, all about her. Christine was certain, but she had to know if this girl could, in fact, be a future Aes Sedai.

Karigan looked around herself in surprise. It had all happened so fast. One moment she had been talking to the Aes Sedai out on the street and the next she was sitting her in the back room of a weapons shop.

What was it that she had said? oh, yes. Tar Valon is for all, everyone, Karigan though in surprise.

Looking briefly at the woman, Karigan replied to her question. "My names Karigan Mere. I'm 18 years old, I'm from Talon Reeds up in northern Andor. I'm the fourth child out of 9."

Karigan sneaked a look at Christine from where she had been looking at her tea cup. "Can I really go to the White Tower?"

"Can you go to Tar Valon? Of course, girl! What did you think... Tar Valon was for only high ladies? honestly, if they did that, i would have never been allowed in!" Christine set down her cup of tea, and smiled at the girl, taking her hands warmly between her own.

"Tar Valon is a place for new beginings. You can study at the White Tower, as an initiat, and become an Aes Sedai. Or, if what i sense is wrong, you can be a trainee, or a servant... Tar Valon is for a fresh start. Dont you want a fresh start? Everyone does. I know I certainly did."

Letting go of the girl's hands, she took a few more sips of tea. "I am telling you, child. Tar Valon is the place to go... and I suggest that you come along with me."

A fresh start? If it was anything it was that. Karigan knew, all the better to take pressure off of her family. At that moment Karigan came to a decision. "Christine Sedai, I would be happy to go to Tar Valon." Karigan stated. This was an opportunity that she had not expected at all, but only a fool passed up an opportunity when it beckoned.

Christine rose from her chair, smiling, and set down her cup. "Excellent, then we shall leave now." She walked out the door, and called back to the girl to hurry up. The girl kept up, and Christine went into the inn she was staying, and continued to gather her things. "Well, we shall go get you a horse now, and be gone before nightfall!"

Karigan was in whirl. Was it only today that it had been her first trip to Camelyn, and now here she was off Tar Valon and whatever fate awaited her there. Feeling a little awkward on the horse that Christine Sedai had gotten for her, Kargian looked forward to the future with eagerness and trepidation.
