so...

Yeah.

wtf?

And in the purpose of the everyone has a role thing, I do have a role. Barm's PM was kinda confusing, it was something of this sort (I'm not quoting, because that's against the rules) You are a healer, if anyone uses a role on the person you are healing that night, they lose their role.

Sorry, Be'lal!  There was a connection between us, I felt it.  And now it's severed.  *holds up a lighter and sets off the smoke alarm*

Just because everyon seems to be saying it now, I'll take this opportunity to say that I was the first to say "wtf".  *takes a bow*

So what, is EVERYONE going to reveal now?  *is amused*

Your avatar is especially suited to moments of prodigious WTF, Ish. I envy you.

Rhavin, is this one yours? It bit my leg.

I don't think people should reveal. It will give the evils clues as to where the important roles are hiding.

Yeah I think WTF is the only thing that sums it up. I am more confused now than earlier.

Okay, the title of the thread is changing every game day. That is now an established pattern. Along with the fact that nothing makes sense and every morning we wake up with less sense than we went to bed with. It seems likely that everyone and their mother has a role. Oh, and two people seem to die in strange circumstances no matter what we do. Bel'al, Lanfear, Graendal, Osan'gar and Semi are our known innocents by coroner finder. And it is day 3. Does that about sum it up?

I'm less inclined to think that Balth is evil now, and it seems unlikely that anyone will be willing to lynch him now anyway. Added to that, if there are no more trigger happy role-blockers then he can be investigated by our other cop, assuming they still breathe. I was unwilling to pursue this last night because I totally wasn't buying the reveal. Now I am willing to pursue it.

That leaves me with [glow=red,2,300]Mesaana[/glow].

Can we get a list of players dead and alive. [glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow] Sorry Halima

BTW I think it is a bad idea to assume anything about the number or composition of the roles in the game, and an VERY bad idea to bank our game plan on it...

Better to look at what you know and draw the best conclusion you can based on that than to throw out wild speculation like confetti and insist that we 'can't make assumptions' about such and such. Where does that approach get us? It gets us talking in circles. Yes, we should keep our minds open to other possibilities but we need some assumptions to operate effectively. And if we have conflicting theories of similar likelyhood then we need to work out the approach that will give us the best result from either of them. But we need to start somewhere.

Barmy: you're nuts.

I think everyone is roled. I am roleblocker on odd nights. And on night 1 I roleblocked Be'lal.

If you compare this to what Balthamel said yestereve, I'll vote [glow=red,2,300]Balthamel[/glow].

I believe he just guessed there were no roleblockers.

Woooo....

Read your role carefully. You roleblocked Be'lal, and I investigated Be'lal that night and got interfered with. You sure your role wouldn't of blocked me?

To be honest I play games all the time where 90% of the people are roled...

The initial pm simply stated that I was the odd-night roleblocker.

I had never heard of that role, so I responded. I only see it's not allowed to literally quote Barmy's pms, but nowhere we can't quote our own to barmy:

Am I correct in assuming "roleblocker" means that I choose a person, and that whatever action that person does that night, doesn't happen?

Thx

And he answered that I am correct. I interpret that as being the only thing I can do (he said after the Semi-reveal that uncompletely-known roles know they don't know all of it - that didn't make sense, but you probably know what I mean). I'm gonna send a new pm to barmy asking whether this is possible, and, if it is, I'll probably unvote. Not yet, though.

I have to agree that role revealing is not too good an idea. And trying to specualte too much sends us in circles (well it does me).

I'm not sure where I will go from here. will have to do some more reading :o

oh and Moridin, I do train them well ;)

To continue if Barmy says I didn't know part of my role.

Of those alive: who revealed:

Those who don't reveal, or double-reveal, are my primary suspects.

Balthamel- healer/finder

Mesaana - odd-night roleblocker

Aginor - healer, someone who used their role on the healed person, loses their role

Moghedien - all role blocker for 1 night

Asmodean

Demandred

Aran'gar

Rahvin

Ishmael

Cyndane

Halima

Moridin (does not wanna reveal)

Sammael (does not wanna reveal)

Mesaana I never said I didn't want to reveal my role, but now that I think about it I really don't want to because it is giving the evil team too much information. At this moment to me you are looking quite evil trying to get everyone to reveal.

Guest Mesaana-Mafia

I think my reasoning is quite sound: I believe everyone is roled. Only the evils are afraid to declare their role. So: those who don't reveal are primary suspects. Yes, this way the evils know the roles as well. But: this will give us info, as they will have to choose which role they put away. If I were evil, I'ld nightkill exactly the ones that have NOT revealed. Nightkills should give no information, imo. I'm not evil, but I don't see anyone not agreeing with this last.

And, maybe you read over it, but my role-reveal proves Balthamel is evil (unless Barmy hasn't told me all of my role, which he previously stated we would know; or there's a full-time roleblocker active; or a role unheard of).

Your sound reasoning doesn't really match your logic. You say that people who don't reveal are your prime suspects, which I would take to mean that you want to take them out during they day, yet I think it gives you a double advantage according to your next line of logic. You say if you were evil you'd kill people who don't reveal meaning you think they must have a role and are on the innocent team since you wouldn't jepordize your team mates.

Guest Mesaana-Mafia

As to why reveal: I'm quite sure everyone has a role (and I don't think there'll be much argument about this). So, the only ones that cannot reveal it are the evils (since, their role is being evil). They have a double choice: either they don't reveal their role, or they say they measure themselves a role. Since we've all got a role, most usual and unusual roles will really exist, meaning that mafia will give a double-role (2 people claiming the same role). This means that the category with potential evils is more limited: those who don't reveal a role, and those who reveal a role, but not exclusively. Though: the role-revealed people are not necessarily innocent: they can be mafia that guessed correctly.

As to my innocence: I guess that will be proved the moment the even-night roleblocker revealed (hoping he/she is still alive).

As to what I would do if I were evil (do you really think I would mention this if I wére evil???): The evils have to choose whether to nightkill a roled person, of whom the role is known, or one, of whom the role is unknown. Two guesses which nightkill will gather more information? Remember: information benefits the innocents. I'm not gonna work this out more, simply because I don't wanna give the evils ideas.

Er ... I don't know, Mesaana. Which one does give more information? Given that there is no role reveal on death ...

I think this is a shoddy attempt to get our important players out in the open, either by having them reveal themselves or narrowing down the choice as to who they could be. I'm not going to narrow down your choice for you. And if I die tonight I'll take comfort in the fact that it has bought you nothing.

Let me go so far as to say that I think you're a lying liar who lies.

Guest Mesaana-Mafia

Stop being ridiculous: I role revealed, and BALTHAMEL LIED. He said he was roleblocked, while I (the roleblocker that night) roleblocked Be'lal.

Moridin, reread your first sentence and say you agree with me.

Yes, this is a nuthouse. But, for the first time in this game, with a LOT of role reveals thus far, I've made the first one that gives us an evil. And, in return, you all start attacking ME with non-sense arguments????

Guest Mesaana-Mafia

I see I've forgotten something in my last post: Balthamel could be innocent. If Barmy forgot to mention me something (which I've just asked him), or if there is another roleblocker with first-night powers (which Barmy didn't wanna answer).

Moridin & Sammael: your being so afraid to reveal, puts you high up on my suspect list.

And I hope the even-night roleblocker still lives and reveals, because that'ld kind of prove I'm innocent. How else would I know their is a roleblocker that is divided in odd and even nights?
