I appreciate you keeping everyone up to date and with all the current information about your condition. Ironically, I just caught up with your blogs last week, and today I learned that my uncle has been diagnosed with amyloidosis. He is on his way to Mayo to participate in some treatment involving his stem cells.

That is great to hear Mr. Jordan. I just started reading your books in 2006, and was quite upset when my friend told me about your condition. I think that is wonderful news, and best wishes to your health, and family. I look forward to reading the last of the series. Happy New Year!

I'm glad I found this blog, I was looking for an update of your health issue after my wife had told me about the notice on the Tor website. I'm glad to hear you are doing so well, keep up the good recovery, remember you have 30 years worth of books to write. :-)

I`m an avid reader of RJ and have been since i first picked up the eye of the world. After reading that i went back to this small book shop in Lyme Regis UK where I`m from, and ordered the whole lot. that came to about £80 but I was so engrosed in the whole thing that that didn`t matter. I then read the whole lot again while I was waiting for the Kinfe of dreams to come out, now i have read that three times in waiting for the new book to come out. So i did some research and came across this site ( which i now visit all the time ). to find out about RJ and what he is going through. I know that I`m along way from him and family but I wish him all the best in getting better. I just read that he is 3.14 which rereading blogs form him and others is a good sign. i hope with all my heart and that of my family that he beats this thing!!! and a big thank you to all of his friends, family and all the people at the MAYO that has helped get a fantasic writer and person through the most troubling of times. I read a blog by RJ that said to make people laugh helps so any one reading this should get a laugh of my spelling which i know is very bad. thank you RJ your books help me through life, reading them takes me out side my normal life of family and work ( work, I do about 80 to 90 hours aweek as a chef )and gives me that time to myself that i think every one needs now and again. so thank you again and i hope to read the new book soon!!

How much of Ebou Dar is influenced by New Orleans? The penchant for festivals, gambling, and other merrymaking there (at least before the Seanchan arrive) invokes the flavor of the Big Easy. Knowing your love of food, I'm guessing you've got a place in your heart for the Delta. They've had their own invasion of sorts. I was down there a couple weeks ago, and in nearly every way, it seems half the city it used to be. But they are rebounding, fighting, and still passionately in love with life, best I can tell. Don't even get me started on the Saints... Keep it up on your own fight, and thanks for your stories.

I'm a late blooming "Wheel of Time" reader, I only started with the series about 3 years ago or so, but have read up to book 10 so far at least three times or better. It's one of the few series of Fantasy genre that I can immerse myself in and forget for a bit. I read your bio on the homepage and hope that treatment and all is treating you well. I'm not in the same boat but have advanced degenerative arthritis in the spine with epilepsy, your attitude about this has effectively changed my own in a great many ways. I've also the Audio Rennaissance versions of both "The Eye of the World" & "The Great Hunt" and will be purchasing the others along. They are great ways to spend the day immersed in the weaving of the great wheel. And y'all are southerners no less, I'm a transplanted southerner, now in GA. Looking forward to "Knife of Dreams" and looking to get it SOON! Thanks again for the great writing, be well!

Congratulations on your improving health! I truly wish you all the best. I discovered your writing about 9 years ago, and have probably read through your series about 10 times or more. I read a lot, and it truly takes an original plot or extremely interesting characters to keep me interested. You have done that time and time again. Also, I'm assuming you still live in Charleston, SC. My family used to vacation there every summer until Hurricane Hugo, I believe, destroyed the beach house. It is a beautiful city, with really neat cemeteries. My family loves old things, and the first place we toured was a cemetery with really old tombstones. I was too young to remember places & names, but I'll never forget the atmosphere. Anyway, take care of yourself!
