Today is Robert Jordan's 56th birthday and he'll be celebrating it by... taking a day off from writing.

Harriet and I will attend services at Pompion -- pronounced Punkin -- Hill, one of the small Pre-Revolutionary chapels in this area [....]  Fried chicken, potato salad, tomatoes, and lots of champagne.

Sounds like RJ is going to party in a way that only people from South Carolina know how!

In a few weeks he's off to Turkey for a large bookfair in Istanbul. He'll be doing some public appearances and private vacationing.
