  1. Maybe this is a dumb/irrelevant question, but do we know when this trouble took place? Was it after the Foretelling in the Amyrlins' office that Moiraine and Siuan witnessed as Accepted?
  2. Ok, Daughter of the Night is obviously Lanfear. The second line most likely describes that she is still fighting. The third line is where it gets interesting. The words "who shall serve her and die, yet serve still" seem to speak of Rand, but we know Rand is not her lover. So that brings up the question of who is. The fourth line indicates strength. The fifth line is interesting. What does Lanfear/Cyndane have to do with the White Tower? <snip> Wow, that's a lot. I'm tired and haven't done a reread of the series in awhile, so I'll just comment on the first little bit of that, Beren. BTW, GREAT post. I've got a bit of a crazy theory here. I think this verse does talk about Lanfear, but I would be her new Lover to be Moridin. I know it's crazy, I KNOW it is, but if they somehow hook up, I could see the third line working. Yeah, it's a longshot, but that would be cool. Hey, you've read TGS. Sure, Lanfear/Cyndane becoming lovers with Moridin is a stretch, but not out of the realm of possibility.
  3. My vote is on Nyaneve, Moiraine, Rand, and Callandor healing death.
  4. I'm with Beren. I'm certainly up for it!!!
  5. Rich, While your explanation certainly makes sense, I have this lurking notion that we haven't seen the last of Graendal. though I do agree that the point of that scene was not so much to show her death as it was to show how Rand has fallen deeper into madness. God, I hope we get some of the old Rand back, if even just a little bit.
  6. Boy, there was a lot to like in this one. It's been a very long time since a book has had the kind of impact on me this one has had. I'd have to say my favorite scenes would either be Chapter 39 (the entire thing - I loved when Verin said "Oh and by the way, your dress is Green", the meeting with Tam choked me up, but I think the best line in the whole book was "And then she proceeded to spank the Forsaken." I jumped up from my bed and howled, that hit me very hard. I loved it!
  7. Here's something I have been thinking since reading some of your thoughts on Graendal. I don't think she's dead either. Something Moridin said in the Prologue about her causing Rand "pain of heart" makes me think we haven't seen the last of her. That would be her way, too: hitting Rand through someone like Elayne, Min, or Aviendha (my money is on Min) to cause him pain of heart. Unless I'm misinterpreting this.
  8. Just had mine delivered wirelessly to my Kindle. It was $9.99 US. Not that I'm gonna be reading it much today.....
  9. I wasn't aware that he had said that, though that makes sense. Balefiring the dark one, especially since he has been touching the lives of pretty much everyone, would be disastrous imho.
  10. Just out of curiousity, where does it say that?
  11. I'd have to agree with you on that. If it were always true, then we could look forward to her marrying Rand!
  12. I wish Berelain would die. I'm not a huge fan of hers. Would love to see Elaida bite it as well. I think it would be cool if Slayer was killed by Lan, though I doubt that will happen.
  13. I like the idea of Nyaneve learning to heal death. Maybe she could bring Rand back to life after TG?
  14. I was in the early 90's. Does that count?
