  1. Is that speculation or is it actually mentioned somewhere in the series?  I simply don't recall ever reading that.

As stated previously we know that Seanchen prophecy calls for the Dragon to kneal to the Empress. We know from the BWB that Ishy corrupted the Seanchen Prophecies. so it seems pretty clear that it was Ishy who placed that into the Seanchen Propheciies.

Sorry to dredge up an old question / answer.... but isn't it possible that after his transformation in Veins of Gold that Rand will see the need to bow?

  2. I apologize if these are stupid questions about TAR, but I've been wondering them for a while.

I know someone can get real injuries from TAR (a burn, scrape, bruise, poison, etc) but what about illnesses or pregnancies even. Some living things do show up in TAR, yes? Is it possible to get sick from a virus or bacteria or other Microbe in TAR? And, what about getting pregnant in TAR? I'm thinking "no" because you can't carry anything out yes?) of TAR including pathogens or sperm, but would you still have the effects of the disease or a pseudo-pregnancy?

    Thanks :)

If you and your partner were both there in the flesh, yes.

Could be a pretty freaky liaison.

  3. That was THE mort reckless thing we have seen any ruler or person of power do in this series. Imagine if Morgase had succeded in getting the Whitecloaks to get her back into power. If Pedron Nial had any involvement, Andor would NEVER recover power from the whitecloaks, it would of seriously made life hell for average Andorans. If Morgase really cared about Andor, she would of gone crawling on her knees to Dyelin and offered her House Trakand, then helped her gain the throne with the others who would never have helped Morgase. Her and Elayne border on evil in thier want of Andoran domination at any cost.

Neck and neck with the borderlanders coming South to talk to Rand.

Seriously, WTF?  You leave the front lines stripped of a couple hundred thousand of the best warriors with no way of getting them back quickly if trouble comes up?

This may be the plotline that I have the most problems with.

  4. Have we seen Aes Sedai "lying" with a delay?

I mean, can an Aes Sedai say for instance "I will never do that" and later do it having forgotten it or not thinking the same at this very moment?

That would not qualify as a lie in their eyes, wouldn't it?

Or will it be... printed into their mind and become binding?

I think it comes down to whether or not they think / realize they are lying.

The AS who was with Egwene and then went back to Elaida (name failing me - Beonin?)... she was fine with her duplicity until Egwene pointed out the inherent lie.  She was then unable to continue it.

  5. A thing in on my head for quite some time now (since I read the original book and not some filthy translation)

And I am myself not quite sure about it I find it to complaisant , it is about the main prophecies of the dragon reborn

:"His blood on the rocks of Shayol Ghul, washing away the Shadow, sacrifice for man's salvation"

and one of the aiel prophecies about He Who Comes With The Dawn

:"He shall spill out the blood of those who call themselves Aiel as water on sand,"

The Shadow Rising, He Who Comes With The Dawn

so my question : Could is "blood" nor refer to is health but to the Aiel in the last battle ?

    Seems plausible to me.

The Aiel are his relations.... i.e. his blood-kin.

  6. How come Moghedien or Taim never break the Seals?

Moghedien couldn't, the Seal in Tanchico was still unbreakable (the BF didn't break it, or was that the Dominion Band?).

And Taim - that seems to be part of some scheme. Or, maybe he wasn't evil when we first saw him.

Right, the Tanchico seal wasn't yet breakable.  Maybe fragile only after the 'waves of evil' finish coming out.

I've also wondered about Taim.  Seems to me that giving over the seal was a good way of establishing his bona fides to Rand.

On a semi-related note... why kill Fel if he was about to tell Rand to break the seals?  Wouldn't this advice have jibed with the effort the DO has put forth into making them fragile?

  7. The Crystal Throne is not an angreal, it's a ter'angreal. It induces awe and reversence for the person seated in it.

Fairly exciting to see this addressed here... I asked this question of RJ (and got this answer) at the book signing in Richmond, VA loooong ago.

Was also seated next to the line of people asking questions/ getting books signed at that event when the infamous "Sammael is toast" line was uttered.
