  1. No, she is being woven back into the wheel, as shown by the disapearence of her memories and Min's visions. She was never bound by the horn. The horn taps into that natural aspect of the wheel which recycles specific souls. Characters do not nessasarily realise this, and attribute it to the horn, but the horn is not that which binds her soul to the wheel. It just uses that binding. Thanks for clearing that up Luckers, it makes more sense to me now. 8)
  2. Another thought occurred to me, Birgette was not "spun out" by the wheel this time, she was ripped from tel'arahn'riod, what affect will this have on her in regards to the horn. The example of LTT and Rand and the horn being sounded and Rand not being brought back as LTT to fight is difficult to understand because Rand was spun out by the wheel. Whereas Birgette was not, she was forced by Moghedian into this life, will that change the circumstances when the Horn is sounded at Tarmon'Gaidon? I also remember reading that she was in fact "bound" to the Horn as one of its hero's. I just completely confused myself, but i cant help but feel something will happen to her when mat sounds the Horn at Tarmon'Gaidon. :P
  3. They would fail. The limit is ten feet for men, thirteen for women, irreguardless of strength. Weaker channelers cannot lift people at all, but even the strongest cannot exceed those limits. Furthermore without an anchor two channelers cannot lift each other a wit. Siuan was still braced allowing her to hold Nynaeve--had Nynaeve tried to lift her something very different would have occurred. I see your point, when you say something very different would occur had Nynaeve tried to lift Siuan in the air while she herself was suspended in air, what do you think would have happened? Or would she flat out not be able to lift her while she is in the air?
  4. It's my understanding that if a hero that's bound to the Horn is alive, then they are not summoned by the Horn when it's sounded. Just look at when the Horn was sounded in The Great Hunt. Rand (aka LTT) wasn't summoned by the Horn, and we know that LTT is bound to the Horn. I hope that makes sense. I could be wrong too. But I think I have the gist of it. *shrugs* Ahh yep that makes Sense to me Chang, i had not thought of the LTT and Rand situation when the horn was sounded, but that makes sense.
  5. Ah ok, im on book four of re-read now, should come across it soon :)
  6. I dont know about that, he planted Callandor in the Stone of Tear in front on a hell of a lot of people, including all the high lords of Tear, some of whom are plotting to kill Rand. I would think the DO or one of the Forsaken would have their eyes and ears watching his every move inside the Stone, and we know that Lanfear was inside the Stone at this time as well. Just seems to me like he would have inverted the weaves as one of his "i didnt know what i was doing till it was done" moments.
  7. This came to my attention in another thread and i want to hear people's thoughts on it. Birgette is tied to The Horn of Valere as one of its hero's bound to return and fight for whoever sounds the horn. Birgette came when Mat blew the horn at Falme, but now that she is Alive, what will happen to her when Mat blows the horn at Tarmon'Gaidon?
  8. well, Siuan had been stilled and healed. Take Nynaeve and Egwene, two very powerful girls who can channel, Siuan after she is healed is a bad example because she is notably weaker. As for the men, Rand is powerful enough to lift both Elayne and Egwene in the air at the same time as making tables and books dance around the room, and Mazrim Taim or Logain Ablar have been stated as being near Rand in strength, if they decided to test my theory ;) i think they might be able to pull it off.
  9. Just re-read the part i was referring to, Book 2 chapter 18. Siuan Actually raises Nynaeve to the cieling of the cabin, and is then hurled backwards to the wall of the cabin. Going with these examples, it is quiet possible to channel each other into the air to some degree, because even as Nynaeve hurls Siuan through the air to the cabin wall, Siuan Keeps Nynaeve suspended in the air. Also Siuan says to the girls right before that confrontation between her and Nynaeve that Aes Sedai used to be able to fly, but no one knows how. Ive gone off on a tangent here, but still it makes for interesting ideas. I maintain that i think it is possible for two aes sedai to suspend each other in the air to some degree, and if Nynaeve can hurl Siuan through the air while Siuan suspend Nynaeve in the air, then it is fair to suggest that two aes sedai can combine levitation (as Siuan is doing to Nynaeve) and propulsion (what Nynaeve does to Siuan while hanging in mid air) to achieve dual flight :D
  10. No. Try lifting someone off the ground. Presumably, you can manage. Try lifting yourself off the ground in the same way. You can't. You cannot pick yourself up by the bootstraps. While you are lifting someone off the ground, get them to lift you up. Just the two of you, no other support. Your friend, hanging in mid-air, picking you off the ground. Again, you can't. For the exact same reason, your idea wouldn't work. What about on the boat when Siuan is giving Nynaeve and Egwene lessons? She picks Nynaeve up and turns her upside down and in turn Nynaeve pins Siuan to the wall, both suspended in air. They're not suspended in mid-air. Siuan and Nynaeve are pinned against opposite walls of the room. I see your point, but its incorrect in one part. When Nynaeve slams Siuan into the wall, she is being suspended, mid air and upside down by Siuan. I see what you are saying Mr Ares and it makes sense, but that instance on the boat with Nynaeve and Siuan proves that you can lift someone off the ground while you are suspended by the power. Siuan has Nynaeve suspended in mid air, upside down, and it says in the book that Siuan flew back against the wall of the cabin.
  11. Memory is a little fuzzy ( that's whay im re-reading again :P ) But i would say Graendel, she seems to be pretty strong being able to Compel so many people at once, all her "pretties" etc.
  12. When Rand planted Callandor in the floor in the Stone of Tear, he said there were unpleasant surprises for anyone who tried to take it. I look back at this and think any male who can see weaves (channel) would be able to pick apart his traps as soon as they saw them. Does this mean Rand inverted the weaves on the traps around Callandor? They would not really be traps if say, Sammael or one of the other male forsaken turned up to take Callandor, and could see the weaves of his traps tied off and waiting. Or is there something i have missed in regards to setting traps with the power? Are Rands traps around Callandor the first example of inverting weaves in the series?
  13. I am a little confused about Birgette and her being born again via the turning of the wheel etc. Is she not tied to the Horn of Valere? She was called forth by the Horn at Falme, but now she is living again, what will happen to her when Mat blows the Horn of Valere at Tarmon'Gaidon? <----Confused.
  14. No. Try lifting someone off the ground. Presumably, you can manage. Try lifting yourself off the ground in the same way. You can't. You cannot pick yourself up by the bootstraps. 15. I remember reading Siuan saying something about it being impossible to use weaves of air on yourself to fly but you can use it on others to lift them into the air etc etc. Two Aes Sedai, using the flows on each other, leads me to believe Aes Sedai could fly in pairs maybe? confusing :D
