  1. Ahh, thanks. I had visited this one too, but it looked like it was out of date or unsued as well seeing as how there had been no news posted there since 2007 from the looks of it.

Do we need someone to help with the site and make it a bit more up to date? I might be able to help out with that if my aid would be desired.

  2. I have done a few searches, both with the search tool and manually, but I have not turned up what I was looking for.

Anyway, does the Black Tower division maintain a website still that is like this one - http://blacktowerdiv.wordpress.com/about/ ?

The reason I ask is because I have not seen a place where the buying method for the OP is written out (ie the strength of the respective elements), current holders of talents and open ones, weapon scores, ect... Some of the things are wrong on the site I reference, such as Strength which used to be calculated after you had made your "purchase" of an elemental score, but according to http://digitalglitch.org/drpsw/index.php?title=One_Power_System , that is not the way it is done now.

    Anyway, I was just asking.

    Thanks!

  3. Vykor had been standing at the edge of the Traveling Grounds for some time, unsure if he should head over to see if his cabin was still standing, report in...his orders has not been specific whom he was to report to. He had wandered far enough from the ground so that anyone opening a Gateway would not cut him in two, but so far no one had arrived and nobody seemed interested in coming over to meet him.

Thinking that it would be best to go to his cabin first and freshen up, he began strolling in that direction. Other men in black coats walked by with a purpose or sauntered past with an air of haughty nobility depending upon if they wore no pins upon their collar or if they carried the sword and dragon.

As he walked, he tried to compose his report in his head, but soon found himself wondering where the sudden rush of people was going that he found himself with.

'S'not like I had much else to do for now', he thought and allowed himself to be carried along...

It was some time later, after the "lession in unity", that he once more found himself wandering away from the main roads and such that made up the ground of the Black Tower and wandered over to his cabin.

'S'not like I had much else to do for now', he thought and allowed himself to be carried along.

He arrived upon the edge of the training grounds, set up with various training dummies and a large formation of men standing in ordered ranks. Vykor himself kept to the edge of the training field and did not join any of the formations, but watched and listened to the gathered men talking among themselves for a time. The appearance of a single figure at the front of the formation stilled tongues and then a booming voice began to address the assembled men.

The upbraiding of the Asha'man and their fighting abilities in Shienar...he had heard a little of it but had been doing other tasks as directed by the Lord Dragon, so it was mostly just a bunch of hot air being spewn about right up until the end of the tirade. Vykor could not believe that this fellow was berating the assembled Soldiers, Dedicated, and full Asha'man because they lacked unity and discipline! He almost laughed aloud, but decided it might not be the best time for such.

If this fellow was the leader of these men, Vykor could not see who it was and was sure he did not know him, then obviously he was yelling at these fellows for something he himself has failed to instill in these men and had received an ear full already from whomever he reported to for the failure at Shienar. Unity was a trait that must be fostered from the top of the ranks down to the low, not mandated to men standing in formation.

A good number cheered the fellow’s speech. Sycophants and other boot-lickers, but from the back of the formation Vykor could see several men grumbling or whispering to their neighbor, an angry look set upon their faces that was hidden from the fellow at the front.

  5. Hey all.

Just returning to the BT and as a Dedicated, I be greatful for some new lessons to advance, or even if someone else is looking for some teaching I will be more than willing to aid a Soldier.

    Let me know!

  6. A Gateway shimmered open and a young man in a black coat, buttoned on the side with a high, tight neck, stepped off the of the Skimming platform and allowed the weave to fall away as he exited.

Vykor looked around, resolve etched upon his face but mixed with a tinge of uncertainty. He had not been back here in a long time and the hunt had not gone well, but he was done for now and had orders to rest. Habit made him caress the small worn-lether satchel hanging from his hip and hook a finger behind the two leathr straps crossing his chest, shifting the long hilted sword sheathed upon his back.

Men, many of them black coated and dangerous looking, could be seen here and there, in groups, pairs, or alone. The numbers were far greater then two years ago, but that was only to be expected. Women and a few children dotted the scenery, though there few numbers only served to make the numerious men appear to stand out even more.

He looked around, hoping to spot a face he might recongize...

  7. Hey everyone! I know, I fell off the face of the world again, but I have been (still) working on my novel.

Anyway, I actually cound some old material that has ranks and power scores and such on them...and yes that is including my own as well.

    http://blacktowerdiv.wordpress.com/active-members/

My actualy rank now is Dedicated, but per this site, my OP scores were

    Earth 7

    Fire 10

    Air  5

    Water 5

    Spirit 8

    Total 35

    Skill 26

    Potency 61

Anyway - I will be making an attempt to get re-active soon and RP with you all again!

  8.

I think I've seen him around MSN, but as to his old reference page, I could tell you nooothing :/

    Thanks.

I sent him a message via MSN (he was off-line) asking him if he still had any of the old material. So I will see if that pans out or not.

  9. nope you aren't on the list that I have.  If you find your old scores let me know otherwise you currently have 32 spending points.

Wow - did the points and skill allotment change in the last year or so? There used to be a site where Ben had our rank, power, and skill but that is not up anymore. He also had an area that listed the powers and power/element and skill requirement as well.

Does anyone know what I am talking about or where Ben might have gotten off to?

  10. Vykor stood in the driving rain, the chill water and gusting wind pushed into the background of his mind as he centered himself for the coming exercise. He could have attempted to weave a shield to keep the rain from soaking him to the bone, but what was the point. Within the Void, such discomforts were not his to worry about, but his opponent across from him was.

A steady rivalry had grown up between himself and the other black-clad man, not out of malice, but out of the desire for perfection. Today would be as good as any to see who was better with the blade. Live-steel no longer held any fear to Vykor, so as his opponent sent cut after cut his way, rain-slicked blade slicing and cutting the space between the two men as if he intended to shear through the wind and rain, Vykor ignored the weapon. Instead he focused upon the man.

Watching his opponent move was like gazing upon his own shadow, and knowing this, Vykor was able to evade the razor-sharp blade coming at him with relative ease. And with each cut foiled, and each swing blocked or avoided, he could see the frustration rising up within his black-clad shadow.

Vykor was grateful for the long hours he had spend working on his bladework and forms, both on his own at night, and with Isha. The time and sacrifice were being to pay off.

Breathing out quickly and dismissing his errant thoughts, Vykor had to jerk his head back sharply as his opponent came in with River Undercuts the Bank. The cut would have laid open his forehead and blinded him with his own blood if he had been just a hair slower. Dancing back slightly to give himself a bit more room for a second, Vykor dipped his head in salute to this now grinning opponent. The other man knew he had caught Vykor napping. It would not happen again.

Surging forward, Vykor flower through Cat Dances on the Wall and stepped back for half a heart beat before thrusting forward with Hummingbird Kisses the Honeyrose.

There were no more grins from his circling opponent again after that.

ooc: Whoever wants to, go ahead and be my sparing partner and then I will edit my post to include your name.

  11. Sweetness -

I have been working on my writing skilz too - so be ready for some off the hook RPs. Course, I have to save the top shelf awesomeness for my book, but you guys will get some good stuff too :)

I am happy to know that I was not forgotten and I look forward to RPing with yous guys (and chicks) again!

  12. ...it looks like you didn't finish at least one of your classes

go back to the thread and just post you replies to those so you can be raised

Hummm...I thought I had. Oh well.

Would you happen to know where those threads are - it has been so long I have had a complete brain dump!

  13. Hey all - I do not know if any of you remember me, but I am back..errr...kinda.

I have been really busy writing a book and other short stories for a setting of my own and had to quit posting for a while - but I am really hoping to start up again with my character Vykor Temmer.

Anyway - life has been good. I have a new daughter that is 7 weeks old and my oldest girl turns three soon (yikes - where does the time go).

I do not have a book done yet - but I will be submitting a roughly 17,000 word short story to the Writers of the Future competition - and I am pretty excited about that.

Anyway - just thought I would give a shout out before I started jumping into some RPing.

    Later!

  14. Vykor was next on the bar.

Isha had said that they needed to do thirty pull-ups, but not how they had to do it. So, with muscles protesting with the effort, Vykor jumped up to grab the bar and proceeded to pull his chin up to the bar. He kept his grip wide and when his chin reached the bar, he let his body fall, only to reach the end with arms fully extended above him. Then, using his momentum, he kicked with both of his feet slightly in the air, causing his momentum to give his body a boost and easing the strain of all his weight hanging from his arms.

Vykor's father had shown him how to do this, which he had said he had learned from his own father. It was a trick that they would use when climbing trees to get at a honey bee's hive or, in one instance, his father had used it to swiftly get himself into a tree when he had been attacked by startled boar while hunting. It was a difficult technique to master because your timing had to be right and breathing controlled, but once known it made tasks like this a breeze.

In no time at all, Vykor was finished and he dropped off the bar, arms only slightly feeling the strain of the last exercise and breathing evenly. He gave the rest of the Soldiers a quick grin and a wink as he move away from the bar and settled in to watch the rest of the men finish the mornings work out.

As he leaned against a tree, Vykor ran his thumbs under the twin straps crossing his chest and decided that this was an excellent was to carry these items and would do so for now on. Patting his leather satchel, he watched the others, but slowly the grin and mirth disappeared from his face as he ran his hand over the faded leather.

  15. Vykor gave a sharp solute, clenched fist to chest and said, "Soldier Vykor Temmer, Sir. You may not remember sir, but I was part your offensive and defensive class. It is good to see you again sir."

He then realized that he had completely ignored the black coated young man who had come up to stand next to him. With everyone coming in and joking around with Noy, he had only half heard the young mans question.

Turning slightly, he said "No. I have not a clue as to what Asha'man Seriba has planned for us." The term young man could only be applied loosely Vykor though as he looked at the young face of the black coated Soldier. But his age did not matter to him, only that he was here and had the ability to channel. 'War makes men of children', his grandfather used to say when he had heard new of the latest battles and war among the rich and powerful.

"I do not believe that we have met. My name is Vykor Temmer." And with that, he held out his hand.

  16. Vykor strolled into the clearing and was rather surprised at what he seen, but kept his face smooth and emotionless. He had been told that there would be an opportunity to do someting interesting- and that if he wanted in then he needed to show up at this clearing. That was it.

When told to make themselves into teams, with the scarcrows none the less, he hooked his thumbs behind the two leather straps crossing his chest; one was his sword belt and the other his worn leather satchel strap, and moved over to the one Asha'man Covai had dubbed Potato Boy because it reminded him of of a toy his little sisters had before when they were younger- it had been a petrified potato they had dressed up and named Darth Tater for some unknown and strange reason. Thinking of that, Vykor's mouth split into a huge grin and his mismatched eyes, one a deep greenand the other dead white twinkled with mirth.

    OOC: Hehehe- Darth Tater Rulz!!!
