  1. Wow, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has WoT dreams. I've only had one myself, but it's not surprising given the incredibly engrossing world of the books. A few weeks ago when I was reading A Path of Daggers, I must have gone to sleep thinking of the awesome battles between Rand and the Asha'man against the Seanchan, because I had some weird dream that I myself wasn't in, but involved a lot of One Power-driven destruction. It was pretty cool. Some of the dreams the rest of you have had have been doozies; I've enjoyed reading them all!
  2. I was in the 7th grade (1994) when, during one of my family's frequent trips to a big bookstore in Dover, New Hampshire, Stroudwater Books I think (we lived in Central N.H. at the time...not much there) I saw EotW and had remembered a friend reading it back in the 6th grade. So my mom and dad, being awesome people, bought me books one through five (LoC was published in paperbackby then, I'm pretty sure, but the told me to wait on it). I was hooked ever since. My brother is an avid reader, and like me he enjoys Stephen King and J.R.R. Tolkien, but he's resisted my attempts to get him into "The Wheel of Time" so far...I keep harping on him! I haven't read the forums for a while, though, because I'm re-reading the series before I finally get to KoD (I'm 100 pages into tPoD now) and I've already seen some spoilers! Argh! But this website is awesome!
  3. I am very ambivalent about this news. On the one hand, a live action series of movies done well like The Lord of the Rings would be absolutely ASTOUNDING, but on the other hand, there's so much that could go wrong: casting, special effects, length of time, cancellations, and dozens of other things already discussed on this thread. My biggest question mark is the casting...I actually don't watch much TV or many movies, so I myself can't really offer any suggestions. I look forward to hearing what you all think about casting. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Robert Jordan been quoted in the past as saying he'd never want to do a movie of The Wheel of Time?
  4. Hey hey what's up? Haven't read "Knife of Dreams" yet, so I haven't scoured these forums as much as I could have (don't want to spoil it) so I don't know if it's been discussed before, but I'm re-reading the series before I get to KoD ('cos I've forgotten too much...almost done with TSR now) and I've noticed two funny (to me, at least) errors. I know a lot of FAQs bring errors up, but I haven't seen these anywhere: -In "The Great Hunt" Ragan has the triangle-shaped scar on his cheek from the Trolloc arrow, but in "The Dragon Reborn," it jumps off of his cheek to Masema's...interesting! -It's Jain Farstrider in every book but TDR...there it's JaiM Farstrider. Did I miss something? Did anyone else notice these? I know I'm obsessive; can't help it!
  5. Very cool! I'll remember to check out all of that stuff! And thanks for the warm welcome!
  6. Hey everyone, as you can tell, I'm new to this forum, but not new to the WoT...geez, I've been reading these since I was in the 7th grade...12 years ago...yikes! Anywho, this website basically rocks, and I look forward to frequenting it! See ya.
