As an uncultured slob, I only discovered Wheel of Time universe this year. I think the aura of the show (ie knock-on effects like word of mouth etc) got a Twitch streamer I like to play the video game adaptation - which then got me reading the WoT fandom wiki. I really loved what I read there, but was disappointed to learn the show didn't seem very related to what the wiki introduced me to. I wonder if it would have had more success if it matched the other Wheel of Time universe stuff (that cool Blind Guardian song too!) that got me personally interested in it to begin with? At least for me, I can look forward to listening to the audiobooks (and playing that video game) for the first time. It just would've been cool to see more visual representation of the characters.
