I hate Rand. I really hated him thrift the first 4 books. It lessens but never fully goes away. It's his stubbornness towards Moraine. He's so worried about not being used by the tower but she has shown over and over that she and Lan are there for him and to help. He thinks he knows more than he does because he read some 1000 year old prophecies a few times. When compared to an Aes Sedai that literally spent her life studying these events and found him when no one else could, he seems cocky and nationalist honestly. The Emonds Fielders can come off as a touch nationalist and hating/mistrusting all outsiders. Every character grows out of this but Rand. Nyneive took awhile. But Rand and the Moraine Sedai's interactions really infuriate me. He knows all the stories about Aes Sedai aren't true. He knows Moraine isn't someone that wants to cage him cause she had plenty of opportunity to do that when Rand has 0 idea what he was doing. But still he mistrusts her, shuts her out, lies to her (knowing she can't lie), and constantly treats her with none of the respect any Aes Sedai is worthy. He did so before winter night. And then everything changed in his attitude. It's horrible
